This role ensures the integrity of our financial data through robust internal controls, streamlined month-end processes, and the development of clear procedural documentation. Key Duties and Responsibilities: * Review tax filings and regulatory submissions, including GST, and fuel taxes * Oversee the full AP/AR cycles, ensuring timely collections of outstanding receivables and punctual payment of vendor obligations * Analyze cash flow visibility by monitoring bank balances and reviewing/signing off on monthly bank reconciliations * Coach and mentor staff by communicating clear job expectations and providing technical guidance on complex accounting entries * Lead the month-end close process by analyzing variances, monitoring revenue/expenses, and performing thorough reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts * Drive operational excellence by identifying opportunities for automation, documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs), and implementing internal control enhancements * Support audit requirements by preparing necessary schedules, providing documentation, and assisting in the completion of the year-end processes * Coordinate team coverage by assigning and scheduling tasks, monitoring workloads, and facilitating cross-training to ensure zero gaps in service Must haves: * Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance * Experience in an accounting leadership role an asset * Exceptional leadership abilities * IT literate - fully conversant in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) * A strong sense of accountability, honesty, and responsibility in all tasks, supporting the trust that we have built with passengers, partners, and communities * Enthusiasm for contributing to our unique mission, whether that’s through direct customer service, operational excellence, or behind-the-scenes support * Must be a legally entitled to work in Canada Nice to haves: * Experience working in a multi-company environment * Previous aviation experience  Ready to join us? * Submit your resume and cover letter explaining why you are an ideal fit for the role * If selected, we'll reach out within 10 days for a brief introductory call * Successful candidates will then proceed to an interview with our Recruiter and Hiring Manager * We aim to make final decisions within 14 days of the initial call   ----------------------------------------     At Air North, we are committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible workplace.
