Sounds great – what’s the role in a nutshell? Supporting role within the finance department of an organization. Reporting to a Senior Accountant / Senior Finance Manager, the Assistant Accountant helps ensure the accurate maintenance of financial records, supports the preparation of financial statements, and contributes to the smooth operation of accounting processes. This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to grow within the field of accounting. Key Responsibilities: * Processing Financial Transactions: Record and process invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries accurately and on time. * Daily monitoring of collections and communication to internal sales and reservation team in a timely manner and to ensure it is registered correctly and timely in reservation system * Weekly group cash and bank reporting to internal management. * Account Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank statements with internal records, identify discrepancies, and coordinate corrections as needed. * Assisting Month-End and Year-End Close: Support the accounting team in closing financial periods by compiling supporting documents, preparing necessary schedules, and ensuring all relevant transactions are captured. * Maintaining Ledgers: Update and maintain the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers for accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and inventory. * Expense Reporting: Review and process employee expense claims in accordance with company policy, flagging inconsistencies or policy breaches for further review. * Assisting with Audits: Compile requested documents and assist external auditors during audits. * Financial Reporting: Assist in routine financial reports for internal management, including cash flow statements, profit and loss summaries, and balance sheets. * Petty Cash Management: Oversee and reconcile petty cash transactions, ensuring proper documentation and authorization. * Data Entry and Filing: Maintain accurate and up-to-date digital and physical filing systems for supporting documentation. * Policy and Procedure Compliance: Ensure all work complies with organizational financial policies, regulatory guidelines, and ethical standards. * Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and suggest improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy. What We're Looking For: * Singaporean or PR only. *  A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. * 1-2 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance role. * Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Oracle, SAP) and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. * Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, reconcile accounts, and identify errors or inconsistencies. * Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping. * Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication abilities to work effectively with colleagues and management. * Organizational Skills: Strong time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks to deadlines. * Integrity: Demonstrated honesty and ethical behavior when handling sensitive financial data. * Teamwork: Collaborative attitude and willingness to support other members of the finance team as needed.
