POSITION: Client Support Coordinator & Forensic Interviewer PROGRAM: Brighter World Child Advocacy Center DETAILS: * Full-time, 40+ hours/week * Exempt/salaried position * Reports to: CAC Program Director * Schedule: Typically Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, with occasional evening and weekend hours SALARY: * up to $57,784/year * This is a full-time exempt position. Final salary is contingent on qualifications and budget availability, and is subject to equity review. BACKGROUND: Brighter World Child Advocacy Center, a program of Better Tomorrow, is dedicated to eliminating the negative impacts of abuse, neglect, and other forms of maltreatment in our communities. Following the national model of Child Advocacy Centers, Brighter World provides a safe and neutral space for children, teens, and vulnerable adults to begin the investigation process in cases of alleged abuse or neglect. We conduct developmentally appropriate and legally sound forensic interviews with alleged victims and witnesses, and offer ongoing support throughout the duration of the case. Within the 14th Judicial District, we work closely with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) including the District Attorney’s Office, law enforcement, human services, medical and mental health providers, and victim advocates to ensure clients receive the best possible care. JOB SUMMARY: This position supports both the direct service and coordination needs of Brighter World clients. It combines client advocacy and support responsibilities with forensic interviewing duties. The role requires a trauma-informed approach, cross-agency collaboration, and strong communication skills. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Client Support: * Welcome and support clients and non-offending family members * Complete client intakes, Pediatric Traumatic Stress Screenings, case management duties, and safety planning; * Adhere to documentation standards, ensuring that all client interactions, interventions, and support services are accurately recorded * Offer crisis intervention and resource referrals * Assist with paperwork related to court or victim services * Coordinate ongoing support services * Maintain relationships with MDT, stakeholders, and community agencies * Attend trainings and monthly Case Review meetings in Routt, Moffat, and Grand Counties Forensic Interviewing: * Complete Forensic Interview training prior to conducting interviews * Stay current on interviewing practices through regular training * Conduct neutral, developmentally appropriate forensic interviews * Collaborate with investigators, caseworkers, and MDT * Uphold confidentiality standards * Participate in Case Review and testify when subpoenaed Other Key Responsibilities: * Assist planning and facilitating fundraising events; * Plan and facilitate community outreach, education, prevention, and awareness events; KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Studies have shown that women, nonbinary folks, and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they meet every single one of the qualifications as outlined in a job description. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive agency, and we are most interested in finding the best candidate for this position, even if that means a candidate comes from a background less traditional to our field of work. * Understanding of child advocacy centers and trauma-informed practices * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * High energy and ability to engage with youth * Professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion * Ability to work independently and collaboratively * Strong documentation and reporting skills * Receptive to feedback and coaching * Familiarity with dynamics of abuse, legal processes, and youth development PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/DEMANDS: * Standard office and community-based work environment * Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally TRAVEL: * Regular (monthly) travel to meetings across Routt, Moffat, and Grand Counties EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: * High school diploma or GED required * Bachelor’s degree preferred * Background in child abuse, victim services, or related field preferred * Experience working with children, teens, families, and vulnerable adults * Must complete required advocacy and forensic training through Colorado Children’s Alliance * Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain) * Must pass background checks, fingerprinting, and TRAILS screening Better Tomorrow is an equal opportunity employer.
