Are you a skilled Cloud Engineer ready to architect, secure, and scale the infrastructure powering cardiac diagnostics for patients across Australia and the globe? Location: Camberwell (4 days on-site) About the Role We're looking for a hands-on AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and secure CardioScan's cloud infrastructure. You'll ensure our systems are highly available, scalable, and performant - playing a critical role in keeping the technology backbone running that delivers life-changing cardiac insights to over 800,000 patients each year. The ideal candidate brings strong AWS expertise, solid networking fundamentals, and a security-first mindset, with FortiGate experience and automation skills considered a real advantage. The Role * Design, deploy, and maintain scalable AWS cloud infrastructure across EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and CloudFront * Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or similar tooling, with a focus on cost, performance, and scalability * Implement AWS security best practices including IAM, Security Groups, NACLs, GuardDuty, and Security Hub * Design and manage AWS network architecture — VPCs, subnets, VPNs, load balancers, and hybrid connectivity * Administer FortiGate firewalls including policies, IPSec VPNs, and threat protection * Develop and maintain automation workflows to support CI/CD pipelines, provisioning, and operational efficiency * Manage SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle, including ACM and renewal automation * Implement monitoring and alerting via CloudWatch and external tools; lead incident response and root cause analysis * Design and oversee backup strategies and disaster recovery planning (RTO/RPO, cross-region replication, failover) About You Must Haves: * 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience with strong knowledge of AWS architecture and services * Proven experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation * Solid networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPNs, and firewall management * Scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell * Experience with Linux and/or Windows server environments * A clear understanding of cloud security principles and compliance practices * Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical audiences * The ability to work autonomously, prioritise effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment * A security-first mindset with strong attention to detail Nice to Have: * Experience with FortiGate / Fortinet firewalls * Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools such as n8n, Zapier, or scripting-heavy environments * Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or container platforms * AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps, or Security Specialty) * Background in the healthcare industry What's in it for you? * A high-growth, global HealthTech business where your infrastructure work directly supports patient outcomes * Exposure to healthcare, clinical workflows, and cutting-edge diagnostic technology at scale * Clear pathway to grow into senior cloud, architecture, or security-focused roles over time * A collaborative, cross-functional environment working with clinical, operations, and technology teams * A high-trust culture with strong autonomy and a focus on outcomes * A refurbished Camberwell office close to cafes, transport, and parking * Birthday leave, Global Reward & Recognition Program, EAP access, and referral bonuses * A business expanding into new countries each year — with genuine career progression About CardioScan CardioScan is a global leader in cardiac diagnostics, operating across Australia, New Zealand, the US, Asia, and Europe.
