Position Details Position Status: Temporary Part Time Term Ends: Aug 31, 2026 Location: Colonel Belcher, Complex Continuing Care (2nd Floor)  BW Hours: 54.25 FTE: 0.70 Shift: Days Shift Times: 0700-1515/1515-2330 Union: AUPE Aux Nursing Rate of Pay: $20.77 - $26.02 PCN: tmpCBLCNA039    Date Competition closes: May 27, 2026   The Opportunity    Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Director of Care, the Health Care Aide (HCA) is a regulated member of the interprofessional health care team who provides ongoing client care. The HCA observes, monitors and reports on client status/condition including changes in physical and emotional status. The HCA ensures that changes in client status are reported to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).   This position delivers prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure. In keeping with Carewest’s Frame of Reference, Philosophy of Care and Carewest policies this position maintains professional and ethical standards at all times. Responsible for other related duties as required.   Program Summary: Complex Care – for frail seniors who require the care of an interdisciplinary team to maintain and improve quality of life in safe, comfortable and supportive environments. Carewest offers a mix of secured and unsecured units.   Qualifications and Experience: - High School Diploma or equivalent is required, plus graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program. - Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English is required. - Must be physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring and repositioning of clients. - Active and current registration with CLHA required. - Related experience in a health care facility is an asset. - Program-specific training/experience is an asset.     About Carewest: We select dedicated people just like you to care for our clients, those who offer compassion, knowledge and commitment to the treatment, progress, outcomes and lives of our clients.
