Lead Automation Engineer The Lead Automation Engineer brings highly technical experience in designing, implementing, and improving Automation systems within the fulfillment network. This role works closely with functional stakeholders, vendors, and other engineers to solve ambiguous problems autonomously. You will … * Principal point of contact with external vendors and system integrators to develop automated order fulfillment solutions utilizing top industry technology such as AMRs, Robotics, ASRS, sortation systems, etc. * Lead the design effort for implementing new technology within a distribution center; including creating detailed Requests for Quotes (RFQs) and requirements documentation to ensure a cohesive end-to-end design. * Lead data analytic efforts for designing and measuring success for Automation projects. Ability to extract clear and concise outputs from messy inputs.  * Strong experience with optimizing Distribution Center layouts, material flows, Automation equipment, etc. * Work autonomously with cross-functional team members to ensure their business needs are met by new system designs. * Owner of business case justification for new technology and/or CapEx purchases * Coach and mentor for junior engineers and team members, improving their technical and soft skills. * Ability to translate complex technical information into simple documentation and presentations, independently. * Excellent interpersonal skills, professional attitude, and approach (and the ability to interact with individuals at various levels of the organization, up and down).
