The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on building systems and equipment. For information about ABM’s benefits, visit ABM Team MemberBenefits | Front Line Team Members | (Programa de Beneficios de ABM)    RESPONSIBILITIES Key Responsibilities * Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment, including HVAC systems, pumps, motors, conveyors, and other machinery * Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner * Perform preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and extend asset life * Repair and replace worn or defective parts, components, and systems * Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals * Perform basic electrical, plumbing, and welding tasks as needed * Respond to emergency maintenance requests and equipment failures * Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation * Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and OSHA standards * Collaborate with other maintenance staff, vendors, and operations teams QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications * High school diploma or GED required * 3+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or in a similar role required. Trade school education or completion of an apprenticeship will also be considered * Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment repair, and troubleshooting * Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and hydraulic systems * Ability to read technical drawings and manuals * Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment * Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude * Ability to work independently and as part of a team ---------------------------------------- Preferred Qualifications * Technical certification or trade school training (mechanical, HVAC, or industrial maintenance) * Experience in industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or facilities environments * Welding or fabrication experience * Familiarity with CMMS systems ---------------------------------------- Work Environment * May work in indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to noise, heat, cold, and machinery * May require lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, standing, and bending for extended periods * Possible evening, weekend, or on-call work
