WHAT YOU'LL DO: Provide on-floor, hands-on manufacturing support for pilot and production lines Assess the producibility of designs and provide continuous design improvement Update design documentation with feedback from prototype and pilot builds Assess non-conformances Participate in root cause investigations Suggest and lead prototyping efforts that reduce risk during manufacturing start-up Create standard procedures and contribute to the creation of work instructions Organize and lead design for manufacturing reviews Work with production teams to improve process and/or equipment WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: BS in technical field - Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (ex. Manufacturing, Aerospace, Industrial, Materials, etc) 4+ years' experience in mechanical, manufacturing, or quality engineering Strong communication and collaboration skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills BONUS POINTS FOR: Basic CAD skills (NX preferred, any acceptable) Expertise in AMSE Y14 GD&T principles Experience in a production environment Design experience of large industrial equipment Design experience with any of the following: * Composite materials * Welding * Vacuum systems * Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma principles * Knowledge of quality systems and formal RCCA processes MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS: * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally * Perform activities such as typing, standing, stooping, and sitting, for extended periods of time * Willingness to occasionally travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call * Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards that may include heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, and cryogenics At CFS, we excel in fast-paced environments, driven by our values of integrity, execution, impact, and self-critique.
