Together, we will change the future of energy, because the world can't wait. What You Will Be Doing: You will own hardware designs for Helion's fusion generator prototypes. You will solve multidisciplinary engineering problems that are necessary for deploying fusion energy to the world and act as a culture driver on a growing team. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager at our Everett, WA office. You Will: * Enhancing Helion’s analysis workflow for critical structures (electromagnets) * Running transient multiphysics finite-element models to generate margins for critical designs * Collaborating with a multidisciplinary engineering team to improve critical hardware designs * Learning from in-house experts to expand your skillset into electrical and thermal analysis * Building software tools to automate the analysis workflow and allow Helion engineers and scientists to run their own analysis Required Skills: * You have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, applied mathematics, physics or related field with a minimum of 3 years of engineering experience. * Strong background in analytical, computational and numerical simulation methods * A foundation of understanding of electromagnetic and thermal finite element modeling * Experience in taking on analysis problems from formulation through testing and model correlation. * Proficiency with multiphysics finite-element analysis tools such as COSMOL, ANSYS, Opera or equivalent * Experience with programming environments (Matlab, Python, etc.) for scripting, tooling or data analysis * Desire to positively impact complex structural designs, rather than just execute on analysis #LI-Onsite #LI-KL1 Benefits Our total compensation package includes benefits, including but not limited to: • Medical, Dental, and Vision plans for employees and their families • 31 Days of PTO (21 vacation days and 10 sick days) • 10 Paid holidays, plus company-wide winter break • Up to 5% employer 401(k) match • Short term disability, long term disability, and life insurance • Paid parental leave and support (up to 16 weeks) • Annual wellness stipend Helion is an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
