It is the collective actions of our team – alongside our volunteers, partners and donors that are pivotal to ensuring every Albertan facing cancer has the support they need and the treatment they deserve, now and into the future. Opportunity Reporting to the Manager, Philanthropy, the Philanthropy Coordinator will be the first point of contact for our donors and serve as the connector between them and the Alberta Cancer Foundation. This front-facing role will require someone professional, compassionate, and able to remain calm in various circumstances. You thrive on developing and nurturing relationships and have above average customer service and communication skills. In this role, no two days will look the same and you will experience first-hand the impact of your work. This role is full-time, in-person at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton, AB.  How You'll Contribute Donor Engagement / Frontline Support Serve as the first point of contact and information source for a diverse group of stakeholders. Direct inquiries and interact professionally with members of the public including prospective and current donors, current and past patients, bereaved family members, event participants and organizers, cancer care staff and volunteers. A calm, professional demeanor with a knowledge of when, and how, to escalate situations is required. * Triage incoming calls and emails for the Foundation, direct as required * Accept gifts from individuals in person or by telephone * Assist donors requiring support or guidance when donating including 3rd party community events * Demonstrate and maintain knowledge of the Alberta Cancer Foundation’s Gift Acceptance Policy & Gift Designation Guidance * Consistently provide a high level of customer service when assisting all guests who reach out to the Foundation (email, phone, in person) * Redirect all communications appropriately and professionally, including incoming calls, mail and visitor inquiries * Maintain relationships by handling questions or concerns with professionalism and accuracy * Demonstrate and maintain knowledge of the Foundation’s funding priorities * Support leadership in any onsite meeting or event * Cultivate knowledge of the new cancer center to assist with requests Philanthropy Support * Support philanthropy team database management to consistently track donor information and activities * Coordinate and execute acknowledgement to families through weekly creation and delivery of next-of-kin contributor letters and other communications as assigned. * Enhance retention of donors through various activities, including * Excelling in donor acknowledgement through meaningful outreach with thank you calls, emails, and cards. * Coordinate and execute anniversary card mailings, ensuring timely, personalized outreach that recognizes and strengthens ongoing donor relationships  * Support sponsorship and/or donor solicitations as required * Assist with prospect management as assigned * Assist with donor tour logistics of the Cross Cancer Institute as required * Provide customer-service on incoming community event questions, data entry and ad hoc requests * Assist with keeping donor records up to date Acknowledgement & Stewardship * Make donor thank you calls to acknowledge gifts, express gratitude and strengthen donor relationships * Assist with donor recognition and stewardship activities (i.e. reports, tours, receptions, meeting room requests, grand rounds and information sessions) as require What You'll Bring to the Team * Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an administrative or coordination role * Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer and donor service, with the ability to adapt to diverse needs and circumstances * Thrives in an in-office setting, contributing to a welcoming, professional and collaborative workplace culture * Strong time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively * Demonstrated professionalism, discretion and sound judgement, with the ability to represent the organization confidently and with integrity when interacting with donors, volunteers, health care partners and colleagues * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional correspondence * Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.) * Ability to obtain and maintain a clear Background Check Why Join the Alberta Cancer Foundation?
