WHAT IS ON OFFER Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Sample Preparation Technician to join our team here in Liverpool, UK.  Reporting directly to the Sample Preparation Departmental Manager, you will be responsible for executing sample preparation methods with a high level of accuracy and precision. This role involves working on a variety of samples and commodities sent to the laboratory for chemical analysis. The Sample Preparation Department plays a vital role in supporting AHKI’s overall laboratory services. To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE  Essential  * Strong team player with a collaborative approach and work ethic who can demonstrate a diplomatic and measured approach through leading by example and encouraging others. * Ability to demonstrate literacy and to be numerate. * Highly motivated with the ability to work under own initiative in a dynamic work environment with changing daily priorities. * The ability to develop the skills and knowledge within the laboratory to create an environment where knowledge sharing is a priority. * Able to demonstrate a high degree of manual dexterity. * Ability to work in an organised and structured way, whilst maintaining flexibility to the changing and demanding needs of the business. * High attention to detail. * Read, understand and follow work instructions and guidelines accurately. * Able to focus on meeting given deadlines. * Able to communicate effectively in a range of different formats. * Proven time management skills, quality driven and pro-active. * IT Literate: Competence with standard Microsoft software - email, Word and Excel spreadsheets. Work Experience * Laboratory experience is desirable but not essential.
