Baker Tilly RSG is seeking a Senior Accountant - Small Business Services to join our team, specializing in audit and general practice services for non-profit and privately held organizations. The role focuses on ASPE and ASNPO-compliant financial reporting, Canadian tax compliance, and year-end engagements. You’ll lead review and compilation files, prepare personal and corporate tax returns, and provide practical guidance to clients. As a key team member, you’ll also support and mentor junior staff while building strong client relationships through responsive, professional service. We pride ourselves on promoting talent when we see it, and work with each professional to define what success means for them.”       Your role: Key Responsibilities: * Lead and execute review and compilation engagements, including financial statements and tax filings, ensuring deadlines are met * Prepare personal and corporate income tax returns, T1s, T3s, T4s, T5s, GST, and other compliance documents * Provide advisory support to clients, offering insights into financial planning and decision-making * Respond to client inquiries professionally and promptly * Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to business development * Manage project timelines, budgets, billing, and work-in-progress * Collaborate with team members to improve internal processes and service delivery * Mentor and support junior accounting staff * Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain CPA designation and role expertise * Deliver attentive, personalized service to foster productive client relationships What you bring to the table: * Strong desire and dedication to work and learn in a dynamic work environment * Excellent communication and analytical skills * Proficiency with MS Word and Excel Required Skills and Qualifications: * CPA designation or actively pursuing it * 3+ years of public practice experience with significant exposure to review and compilation engagements and personal and corporate tax * Experience with non-profit and private entities * Strong knowledge of ASPE, ASNPO, PSAS and Canadian tax compliance (T1, T2, GST, T4, T5) * Proficient in accounting software (e.g., CaseWare, TaxPrep, QuickBooks, Sage) * Solid understanding of accounting and tax fundamentals * Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills * Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities * Detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively * Comfortable using Microsoft 365 and other relevant applications What’s in it for you?  When you join us, you can expect: * Rewarding opportunities at every stage of your career * Challenging and varied assignments * Competitive compensation, incentives, and rewards * Professional networking and mentoring programs * A dynamic, entrepreneurial environment * A leadership team committed to your success. * To engage with leading experts and colleagues across Canada and the world * The opportunity to influence tomorrow for clients, community and the profession. Job type:   Full-time, Permanent Your schedule: Monday to Friday Working Conditions: The Senior Accountant will be required to work in an office environment, with the option of some remote flexibility.  They will be required to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer for extended periods of time.  They may also be required to travel occasionally for training or meetings.
