SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST - GENERAL LEDGER ABOUT THE TEAM The Financial General Ledger (FGL) team sits at the heart of SumUp's financial operations, responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger across an increasingly complex and fast-growing business. As SumUp scales — with lending volumes growing 7x, the Merchant Bank doubling in size, and PSP transaction volumes rising 20% year on year — the reconciliation and accounting work this team owns has never been more critical. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Own complex reconciliations across core revenue streams, including acquirer settlements, chargebacks, and merchant payables — identifying and resolving mismatches between automated postings and actual funds * Review and oversee postings and bank reconciliation work completed by junior accountants, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and audit-ready documentation * Record processing fee accruals, resolve settlement and funding mismatches, and apply IFRS 9 revenue recognition standards to lending and payments activity * Build and maintain a structured tracking log for open reconciling items, with clear resolution timelines and root-cause analysis * Identify opportunities to reduce manual activity through automation and system integrations, without losing analytical rigour * Support the implementation and documentation of our Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) framework      YOU'LL BE GREAT FOR THIS ROLE IF… * Solid accounting experience gained within an international company, with a strong foundation in reconciliations, general ledger management, and financial reporting under IFRS standards. * Proven ability to manage and critically evaluate high volumes of data, spotting patterns, pinpointing root causes, and reducing unexplained differences. * Experience reviewing and coaching others' work, with the communication skills to give clear, constructive feedback and raise team standards. * Strong Excel skills (pivots, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs and beyond), with comfort navigating multiple data systems and an appetite for process improvement. * Ability to explain complex accounting issues clearly to non-finance stakeholders, and to escalate with facts and impact when needed.     WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN SUMUP * 🌍 Opportunity to work with SumUppers globally on large-scale fintech products used by millions of businesses worldwide, from our modern Sofia office.
