As we expand, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Risk Analyst to join our growing Risk team and to help identify, investigate, and mitigate transaction-related risks.  ROLE OVERVIEW: The Senior Risk Analyst role is critical in protecting the business from fraud and financial loss by proactively monitoring transaction trends, flagging suspicious behavior, and contributing to the ongoing development of our risk strategies and tools. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Monitor merchant and transaction activity in real-time and over time to detect patterns, anomalies, and potential fraud. • Analyze large sets of data to identify risk trends, including chargebacks, returns, and unusual volume spikes. • Create and refine rules, alerts, and reports in risk monitoring tools to flag suspicious behaviors. • Investigate alerts, escalations, and potential fraud cases, documenting findings and making recommendations for next steps. • Collaborate with underwriting, compliance, and operations teams to ensure alignment in risk controls and merchant reviews. • Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making and improve risk strategies. • Help improve internal tools and processes for risk detection and mitigation.     REQUIREMENTS: • Minimum 2 years of experience in risk analysis or fraud detection, ideally within the merchant services or payments industry. • Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing transactional data and identifying risk trends. • Deep understanding of payment ecosystems, fraud typologies, chargebacks, and risk scoring systems. • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.   PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience working with fraud detection platforms (e.g., Kount, Sift, or similar). • Familiarity with Visa, Mastercard, and NACHA compliance requirements. • Experience with machine learning models or analytics platforms is a plus. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, iterative environment with high ownership and accountability. Ability to work hybrid from our Newark office three days per week.
