In this critical role, you will build infrastructure for backend services. You will develop common libraries, design microservice architectures, and establish best practices. Responsibilities include: * Architect, design, and develop a complex cloud application based on a microservices architecture. * Gather requirements and design common software infrastructure to support multiple teams. * Develop core backend services. * Build common libraries primarily in Java, and occasionally in Node.js or Go, used across many microservices. * Build and maintain our API Gateway, written in TypeScript, using GraphQL. * Improve developer productivity by automating repetitive tasks and optimizing build times. * Research and develop proof of concepts, and adopt new technologies. * Own, integrate, and implement solutions to enhance application resiliency, observability, and performance. * Write detailed technical documentation for everything you develop. Requirements: * 5+ years of server-side development experience with Java and Spring Boot. Experience with TypeScript and Go is a plus. * Proven ability to take ownership of large projects from requirements gathering through to production deployment. * Excellent skills in technical writing and documentation. * Experience with both NoSQL and relational databases. Familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis and MongoDB is preferred. * Experience developing microservices in a cloud environment. * Proficiency with build tools, such as Gradle, Maven. * Proficiency with CI tools, such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions. * Experience with Kubernetes and Helm. * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a recognized university.
