YOUR IMPACT Axon 911's core communications team is building the back-end infrastructure and applications that power critical communications infrastructure at production scale. This is the engine behind core voice and video connectivity, audio recordings, translation, transcription, and location services in 911-critical contexts. As the Team Manager for Applications, you will lead a skilled engineering team, drive cross-organizational integration efforts, and take ownership of the reliability and evolution of these mission-critical systems. Your decisions will directly influence emergency response outcomes for hundreds of millions of people worldwide. What You'll Do * Lead and grow a back-end engineering team focused on Mission critical communications infrastructure, including voice, video, audio recording, transcription, translation, and location services. * Drive the end-to-end architecture and delivery of scalable, production-grade systems that integrate components from multiple products and teams across Israel and internationally. * Own the technical direction for your team—setting high coding standards, defining API and service architectures, and ensuring reliability at scale. * Coordinate cross-team integration efforts with engineering partners in Israel, Europe and the US, navigating distributed, multicultural collaboration effectively. * Lead the migration and evolution of existing systems toward Kubernetes-based, cloud-native infrastructure. * Mentor engineers, conduct technical reviews, and foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement. *   Leverage AI tools across the software development lifecycle to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and drive team productivity. * Represent your team's technical work through clear, compelling architectural presentations to leadership and stakeholders. WHAT YOU BRING * 5+ years of experience leading software development teams, advantage for global or distributed teams. * Strong communication skills—able to present complex technical and architectural concepts clearly to diverse audiences. * Experience collaborating with distributed, multicultural engineering teams. * Leadership maturity to navigate both technical challenges and interpersonal dynamics across a global organization. * At least 7 years of deep technical expertise in high-scale databases, high-performance systems, and API/service architectures. * Leadership maturity to navigate both technical challenges and interpersonal dynamics across a global organization—detail-oriented, accountable, and dependable in owning outcomes end to end. * Experience with cloud-native development- MUST * Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container-based infrastructure at production scale. * Familiarity with networking, VoIP, RTC, WebSockets- Advantage  DIVERSITY Don’t meet every single requirement?
