ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a Staff Accountant / Accounting Manager to join our Atlanta Home Theater team! This position is full-time and will be based out of the AHT home office in Roswell, GA. Responsibilities * Record and review daily accounting transactions and journal entries. * Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts. * Manage customer billing, accounts receivable, and collections activities. * Process accounts payable and vendor payments. * Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and all balance sheet accounts. * Reconcile subledgers to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies. * Track and report project costs and profitability. * Prepare monthly draft financial statements and supporting schedules. * Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities. * Support external auditors, lenders, and management with financial information requests. * Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting. Requirements * Education & Years of Experience – Associate’s degree with 4+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience. * Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation. * Experience with reconciliations, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and project costing. * Ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of independently managing the accounting function for a small business. * Have a good understanding of the relationship between subledgers, the general ledger, and financial reporting, and take pride in producing accurate and timely financial information. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Sage Intacct would be ideal). * Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Desired Skills * Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, Deltek, or similar accounting systems. * Experience in a project-based construction, or service-oriented business environment.
