Title: Student Services Supports Staff Reports To: Student Services Supports Lead Department: Student Supports Employment Type: Part-Time Duration/Term Length: One (1) academic semester Compensation: $18/Hour Work Hours: Average of 20 hours per week. Must be available to work at least two days between Monday and Thursday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Friday shifts may be required if Monday is a public holiday, with occasional evenings and weekends required for events and activities. Location: Student Centre Building, Progress Campus, with travel to other campus offices as required.  Job Purpose The Student Supports Staff works with a team of professional staff to support the student leadership and goals of the organization. This role is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the CCSAI Food Bank while assisting with student support initiatives, specialty breakfast programs, events, and office operations. The Student Supports Staff acts as a frontline ambassador for CCSAI by providing compassionate, student-focused service and contributing to a welcoming, inclusive, and organized environment for students, staff, and community partners. The role requires the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, rapidly changing, and busy environment. Duties & Responsibilities Food Bank Operations * Unload, organize, and maintain non-perishable food items in storage areas. * Rotate stock according to best-before and expiry dates. * Prepare and pack food hampers according to Daily Bread Food Bank guidelines, dietary needs, allergies, and family size. * Maintain accurate records of food bank appointments and daily pickups. * Follow all food bank operations, policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards. * Provide compassionate, respectful, and student-focused customer service. * Dispose of opened, expired, or damaged products appropriately. * Ensure cleanliness and organization of the food bank, storage, and preparation areas. * Clean and sanitize bins and workspaces after each use. * Adhere to all health, safety, and public health guidelines. * Break down boxes and garbage for disposal and recycling. * Dispose of garbage at the end of each shift. * Mop floors and maintain cleanliness of shared spaces. * Replace cleaning and sanitizer solutions daily. Student Support Programs & Events * Assist with the coordination and execution of student support initiatives, workshops, and events. * Support the planning, organization, setup, service, and cleanup of specialty breakfast programs and other CCSAI activities. * Assist with catering support, event setup, and room preparation for meetings and student activities. * Promote a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students accessing CCSAI services. Administrative & Office Support * Provide frontline support by assisting students, staff, and visitors in person, by phone, and by email. * Support office coverage when required, including directing inquiries and maintaining a professional office environment. * Assist with organizing supplies, maintaining storage areas, and monitoring inventory levels. * Support general office upkeep including breaking down boxes, recycling, and maintaining clean and organized spaces. * Assist with posting promotional materials and supporting outreach initiatives. General Responsibilities * Attend scheduled meetings, orientations, and training sessions. * Work collaboratively with CCSAI staff and student leaders. * Fully adhere to CCSAI bylaws, policies, procedures, and College regulations. * Perform other duties as assigned by the Student Supports Lead and/or Manager, Student Supports. Requirements * Must be currently enrolled in a full-time or part-time program at Centennial College. * Cannot be a current member of the CCSAI Board of Directors or employed by CCSAI tenants. * Must have a valid SIN number (minimum 6 months to expiry) * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work effectively in a team environment. * Flexible, adaptable, organized, and detail-oriented. * Ability to follow instructions and maintain confidentiality. * Ability to lift and move items over 30 pounds. * Food Handler Certificate is considered an asset. * AODA Certificate is considered an asset.   Please Note: We are hiring for a current vacancy Deadline to Apply: Friday, August 7th, 2026 at 4:30 pm   We thank all those who apply but only those individuals selected for further consideration will be contacted.
