The Lansing School District serves over 10,000 PreK-12 students across 25 school buildings in the increasingly diverse urban community of Lansing, MI. This individual will ensure our early childhood students receive world-class instruction in a safe and welcoming environment. Teachers must work to build inclusive, nurturing classrooms where students can be themselves and work collaboratively towards common learning goals. Teachers will work alongside other teachers, parents, and students to ensure they are providing the best education experience to all students.   Credentialing - Lead Teachers: Lead Teachers must meet the GSRP qualifications upon hire. A Lead teacher will be considered credentialed for the position with minimally any of the following   CREDENTIALING QUALIFICATIONS * A valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood Education (ZA) or Early Childhood-General and Special Education (ZS) endorsement, Birth-K, or Pk-3 endorsement; or * A bachelor's degree in early childhood education or child development with a specialization in preschool teaching. The transcript will document a major, rather than a minor, in child development or early childhood education. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Previous experience working with early childhood students * Previous teaching experience in an urban setting * Training in CRPBIS, HighScope, other related instructional methodologies * Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Demonstrate passion for and expertise of early childhood content * Provide world-class instruction in math, literacy, social studies, and science to early childhood students * Use data to guide and effectively differentiate instruction * Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions * Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment * Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission At the Lansing School District, we champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, providing equal opportunities to all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or sexual orientation.
