THE OPPORTUNITY At Macquarie Telecom, we don't just manage customer accounts—we build lasting partnerships that help Australian businesses succeed. We're looking for a commercially driven Account Executive to join our Melbourne team, managing a portfolio of existing mid-market corporate customers. This is a relationship-first role where you'll focus on customer retention, strategic account growth and delivering an exceptional customer experience. You'll work closely with senior decision-makers, developing trusted relationships across your customer base while identifying opportunities to expand their technology solutions across networking, voice, mobile and cloud services. Supported by industry-leading Solution Architects, Product Specialists and a collaborative sales team, you'll have everything you need to help your customers achieve their business goals. ABOUT YOU * Proven success in Account Management or B2B Sales within telecommunications, technology, cloud or managed services. * Experienced managing and growing a portfolio of corporate or mid-market customers. * Skilled at building trusted relationships with stakeholders from operational teams through to C-level executives. * Commercially minded with a strong focus on customer retention, account growth and long-term value creation. * Confident identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities across technology solutions. * Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills. * Highly organised with strong pipeline management and forecasting capability. * Customer-obsessed and motivated by delivering outstanding service and business outcomes. * Collaborative team player who enjoys working across technical and commercial teams. * Self-driven, proactive and accountable for achieving sales targets. REQUIRED SKILLS * Experience selling telecommunications, networking, cloud, hosting or managed technology solutions. * Demonstrated success achieving revenue growth, retention and profitability targets. * Strong account planning and strategic portfolio management experience. * CRM proficiency with accurate forecasting and pipeline management (Salesforce experience highly regarded). * Experience with recognised sales methodologies such as Challenger, TAS, SPIN or Miller Heiman is advantageous. * Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills. * Excellent presentation and stakeholder engagement skills. * Tertiary qualifications are desirable but not essential.
