The accounting team keeps the numbers clean, the controls tight, and the reporting reliable, giving the investment and leadership teams a foundation they can trust. Position Overview This is a hands-on accounting role at the center of the firm's financial operations. You will own day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts payable, cash management support, and the reconciliation and compliance work that keeps the books accurate and audit-ready. It is a strong fit for an early-career accountant, likely a CPA candidate, who wants exposure across the full accounting cycle and a clear runway to grow with a scaling investment platform. You will work closely with senior accounting staff and the deal team. There is ample mentorship and training available through the experienced accounting team at Beedie Capital, including the Manager, Senior Accountant, and Senior Fund & Operations Accountant. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Accounting Own full-cycle bookkeeping in the GL, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, and general journals. Prepare bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are posted and cleared within the period Prepare journal entries and compile the supporting documentation behind them Maintain related-party loan interest schedules Process vendor payables and set up wire, ACH, and cash transfers accurately and on time Prepare monthly GST remittances Support quarterly and annual financial procedures, including audits and budgeting Financial Reporting Support senior staff in preparing quarterly working papers Assist with pro forma reporting Run GL variance analysis and flag items that need a second look Business Operations Coordinate the processing of legal documents. Support the accounting and deal teams on ad hoc reporting as needed Tax Assist with the preparation of tax returns and working papers DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Completed post-secondary education in accounting or finance CPA candidate preferred, but not essential 1 to 2 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience Experience with accounting and tax software preferred; experience with Oracle NetSuite is a strong asset Solid computer skills across word processing, spreadsheets, and databases Comfort using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) to improve speed and accuracy, or genuine curiosity to learn Detail-oriented, with an eye on the bigger picture behind the numbers Proactive and quick to learn, adapting when priorities shift Strong at multitasking and prioritizing across concurrent deadlines A collaborative team player who communicates openly, positively, and with respect Trusted with sensitive information and consistent in exercising discretion We value your interest in Beedie Capital.
