Please note, this posting is to highlight joining Right Side Up's talent collective specifically and is not representing an internal full-time role, or a current opportunity with a client.   Right Side Up is a collective of premium marketing talent—with all of the marketing chops, and none of the agency fluff. We're trusted by the most respected early-stage ventures, the fastest-growing tech companies, and well-established Fortune 500 teams to do one thing better: Growth. We have over 1400+ clients including Reddit, Robinhood, Lyft, Gusto, Stripe, Rippling, Shopify, Noom, Hinge Health, Kikoff, and more. ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking freelance Ad Operations Specialists to own tracking infrastructure and technical execution for clients across paid search, social, display, and OTT. This is a hands-on technical seat: pixel configuration, server-side tracking, event passback, and the martech governance that keeps data clean as it flows between ad platforms, ESPs/CDPs, and internal systems. You're comfortable acting as the translator between marketing, analytics, and engineering — someone who can turn a marketing strategy into technical requirements and scalable infrastructure.   Our client base spans early-stage startups to Fortune 500 teams, so we're looking for marketers with deep expertise on either end of that spectrum — some who thrive in the speed and ambiguity of a scrappy startup, others who are seasoned in the process and governance of a larger organization. Contract projects typically range from 15 to 40 hours per week, depending on client needs and project scope. RESPONSIBILITIES * Own ad ops execution across paid search, social, display, and OTT, including pixel configuration, server-side tracking, event passback, and targeting parameter setup. * Establish and maintain UTM tracking guidelines and campaign tagging standards. * Audit and troubleshoot tracking discrepancies, under-reporting, or data leakage across ad platforms. * Champion data governance, documentation, and deliverability best practices across the martech stack, including compliance with CAN-SPAM and safeguarding domain/IP health. * Manage data inflows and outflows within an enterprise ESP or CDP, maintaining data hygiene. * Manage Google Tag Manager containers, including tag, trigger, and variable maintenance. * Query and model data in SQL to support targeting, audiences, and reporting. * Act as the technical translator between marketing, analytics, and engineering stakeholders. REQUIREMENTS * 4+ years of hands-on ad operations experience across paid search, social, display, and OTT, including event passback and pixel implementation. * Fluent in SQL, comfortable querying, transforming, and modeling complex datasets. * Working knowledge of deliverability best practices and compliance frameworks (CAN-SPAM, domain/IP reputation). * Strong, hands-on familiarity with Google Tag Manager, conversion tracking, and URL parameterization. * Deep experience at either a startup or a larger, more established organization — comfortable moving fast with limited process, or operating within a mature governance structure. * Fintech, lending, or other regulated-industry experience a plus. TOOLS & PLATFORMS * Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics (GA4), and Google Ads. * Meta, TikTok, Reddit, display, and OTT/CTV ad platforms. * Braze or a comparable enterprise ESP/CDP (Segment, Iterable, etc.). * SQL and a data warehouse (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, or similar). * Attribution or tracking tools such as AppsFlyer, Adjust, or comparable. WHY RIGHT SIDE UP Join a team that values expertise, flexibility, and meaningful work with some of the most innovative brands in the world.
