Job Title: Shelter Relief Coordinator (ASLAN)   Wage: £17.01 per hour (plus 12.07 holiday pay) Location: All Souls Clubhouse, 141 Cleveland Street, London, W1T 6QG, and other faith-based Communal Setting locations in Westminster and Camden  Hours: Guaranteed minimum 7 hours per week (Requires regular early morning and evening shifts (likely to be 7.15-9.15am and 6.15pm to 9.45pm), including at weekends and over the Christmas and Easter periods.) Dates: TBC (subject to dates being confirmed by Westminster Council) Visa sponsorship: Not available DBS Check: Enhanced All Souls Serve the City  All Souls Serve the City (ASSTC) is a Westminster-based charity that seeks to serve those in our area who are isolated, overlooked, and exploited, bringing the message and ministry of Jesus. The charity was formed to consolidate a number of ministries that developed from within the All Souls Clubhouse and All Souls Church, a diverse, mutli-generational, vibrant congregation in central London with a heart to reach the city and the nations for Jesus. ASSTC works across four ministry areas: those affected by homelessness (ASLAN), children at the All Souls Church of England school (Children and Families), senior members of our community (Senior Care), and those in the sex industry -including those who may have been trafficked (Tamar).  ASLAN  Our aim in ASLAN, the All Souls Local Action Network, is to engage with people affected by homelessness by offering them individualised care, support and befriending.  ASLAN Faith and Volunteer Network (FVN) Night Shelter :  ASLAN Faith and Volunteer Network (FVN) Night Shelter 26/27 is an innovative project for individuals rough sleeping in Westminster, offering communal setting emergency accommodation. The shelter will run for a minimum of 6 months, from the beginning of October to the end of March, with a possible extension to the end of June. Various churches contribute in different ways. Each venue will offer individualised companionship and support whilst the guests (re)engage with St Mungos and  Westminster Council, pursue Council-directed solutions for the short term, and explore long term housing  solutions.  Guests will initially be assessed by St Mungo’s as low risk (without mental health or addiction issues), but may be “high need” and will then be referred to the Communal Setting. For example, they may have a complex immigration status, be waiting for the outcome of an asylum appeal or they may have been offered government support elsewhere in the UK or at another time, but failed to engage with it due to language, cultural or community barriers.  The Shelter Manager will lead and oversee all aspects of the project. The role will be supported by 4 Relief Coordinators in order to cover all morning and night shifts, seven days/ week for the duration of the Shelter run. The Shelter manager will be employed by All Souls Serve the City, the coordinating venue. Key Role Responsibilities:  * Assist the Shelter manager to organise and coordinate the operational delivery of the FVN shelter. * Be present and visible at all venues for daily shifts with the shelter manager and other Relief Coordinator(s).  * Ensure the shelter is run effectively at all times and that any issues or problems are dealt with effectively and calmly in a peaceful and conflict-free environment. * Manage each shift's team of volunteers, ensuring safety of guests and volunteers at all times. * Induct new volunteers and guests into the shelter setting.  * Work with referring agencies, shelter teams and guests to ensure that the shelter meets the needs of its guests and treats guests and volunteers fairly and consistently. * Collect relevant data and manage safeguarding concerns.  * Work collaboratively and cooperatively with venue volunteer coordinators.  * Relate to shelter guests with the utmost respect and tolerance, seeking to build their self-confidence and self-worth and improve their quality of life. Person Specification: Essential * Experience and understanding of working with those who are homeless and other vulnerable adults  * Proven interpersonal skills, including an ability to motivate and encourage people  * Experience of safeguarding, understanding of data protection and ability to handle sensitive personal information  * Proven administrative skills, including good written and oral communication, and good computer literacy * Ability to take initiative and work unsupervised  * Whole life disciple wanting to know Christ more and grow in grace, obedience and Christ-likeness themselves  * Having a servant heart and seeking to live a life of Christian integrity * Resilient, with an ability to handle pressured situations with calm, tact and wisdom  * Committed to self care and pursuing a healthy work-life rhythm  * A flexible team player  Desirable * Christian ministry leadership experience * University graduate or equivalent * Experience of working with professional organisations in the field of homelessness  * Lived experience of homelessness  * Lives within London (in one of its 32 local authorities or in the City of London) Full Job Description Application: Closing date: 5th July at 23:39 (Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and candidates are assessed as they apply) Interviews: From 13th July There is an occupational requirement that the job-holder is a Christian under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010.  Safeguarding: conditional offers will be made pending the successful completion of an enhanced DBS check which will be processed by All Souls Serve the City  Point of contact: [email protected]
