Responsibilities * Feature Development: Build and ship well-tested features across the frontend and backend, with guidance and support from senior engineers * Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineers in an agile environment to deliver features and enhancements * Code Quality: Write clean, readable, and tested code; participate actively in code reviews and incorporate feedback * Learning & Growth: Ramp up quickly on Ontic's tech stack and domain, and seek out feedback and mentorship to accelerate your development * Debugging & Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve bugs and issues, escalating and collaborating with senior engineers as needed * Participation: Contribute ideas and perspective in technical design discussions for the features you work on Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) * 0–2 years of professional, internship, or project experience in software engineering, with exposure to both backend and frontend development * Some familiarity with Java, Spring Boot, and database technologies such as MongoDB (coursework, internship, or project experience is welcome) * Basic understanding of RESTful APIs * Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and React fundamentals * Exposure to modern JS tooling (npm/Webpack) and a willingness to grow into TypeScript, state management (Redux/Zustand/React Query), and testing (Jest) * Solid foundational problem-solving and analytical ability * Understanding of Git and collaborative development workflows * Familiarity with, or interest in learning, CI/CD and cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) Mindset: * Strong curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies and domains * Receptive to feedback and coaching, with a growth-oriented attitude * Collaborative, detail-oriented, and dependable This role is based in Austin, Texas, and requires to work from the Austin office three days a week. This role supports a FedRAMP environment and requires that work be performed within the United States by individuals authorized to work in the U.S. and who are U.S. citizens.
