WHAT YOU'RE APPLYING FOR We're looking for a backend engineer to help build and scale the systems that power Lemonade's Home products. You'll be part of a self-sufficient squad within our Engineering team in TLV, working closely with Product, QA, Data, and Machine Learning to ship features that make a real difference for homeowners.   We believe three things matter for every role at Lemonade: drive to push through challenges, efficiency that keeps standards high while moving fast, and adaptability that lets you pivot with data and AI insights. We're building the future of insurance with AI at the center, and we need people who are genuinely excited to learn and grow alongside these tools.   IN THIS ROLE YOU'LL * Build and maintain Home product features using microservices written in TypeScript (NestJS) * Leverage our in-house autonomous tools to manage the full development flow — from setting up your environment to deploying services to production * Collaborate closely with Product, QA, Analytics, Data, and ML teams within a self-sufficient squad to hit the squad's OKRs * Take ownership of your domain — writing clean, scalable, production-grade code that holds up at scale * Contribute to engineering best practices and help raise the bar across the team WHAT YOU'LL NEED * 3+ years working as a backend engineer * BSc in Computer Science or Mathematics (or equivalent experience) * Solid understanding of modern backend frameworks, tools, and architecture * Hands-on experience with TypeScript or similar strongly-typed languages * Experience working on production-grade projects with real performance and scalability demands * Proficiency in leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate writing, testing, and refactoring code. * Genuine curiosity about technology and how it can be applied to solve real-world problems * Ready to work in an office environment most days of the week
