About the Role We are scaling into new Caribbean markets as part of a broader expansion across the Global South. This is a hybrid Sales Director and General Manager role, you will be accountable for commercial results, delivery outcomes, in-country operations, and the customer relationship, as the single accountable leader for the region. Sales is one part of the job, not the whole of it: you're equally responsible for making sure what gets sold actually gets delivered well, and that the region runs as a coherent operation, not a collection of individual deals. You will combine deep public-sector relationships with full operational and P&L ownership for the region. Working at the intersection of the customer, Amini's technical and delivery teams, and internal leadership, closing the right deals, keeping delivery honest and on track once signed, and making the trade-off calls that keep customer expectations realistic and the team focused on what matters most. Responsibilities Regional Operations & General Management * Own full regional operations for Amini's Caribbean business, including commercial, delivery, and in-country presence, as the single accountable leader for the region * Responsible for the regional P&L, including both revenue targets and cost/resourcing decisions, in partnership with the CEO and COO. * Leading and building a local team spanning commercial, delivery support, and customer success as the region scales beyond the initial deployments, while also drawing on shared resources and expertise from the wider Amini team where a dedicated local hire isn't yet justified * Representing Amini across the region, building credibility and relationships with in-country partners, regulators, and government bodies * Owning regional compliance, legal, and operational set-up in each new market, including entity structure, contracts, and data residency/regulatory requirements Customer Relationship & Delivery Accountability * Own the relationship with each government customer for the life of the contract, not just through signature, but through delivery and into steady-state * Be the customer's senior point of escalation and trusted counterpart, alongside the PMO Lead's day-to-day programme management * Be accountable for overall delivery outcomes across the region, working directly with Engineering/tech leads on timelines and quality, and partnering with the PMO Lead without duplicating their execution role * Track customer satisfaction and delivery quality as core regional success metrics, weighted equally alongside commercial targets * Set realistic customer expectations upfront rather than overpromising to win a deal, and drive internal prioritisation and trade-off decisions when customer asks exceed what the team can deliver on time Commercial Ownership & Government Relations * Own the commercial strategy and results for sovereign sales across the Caribbean region * Build and maintain relationships with government ministries, agencies, and public-sector decision-makers, driving connected-government and citizen-centric technology adoption * Run the full sales cycle for sovereign cloud and digital infrastructure deals, from prospecting through to close * Identify and prioritise target markets and opportunities across Caribbean nations, using Barbados as the proof point for expansion Cross-Functional Partnership * Work closely with Product and the PMO/delivery function to shape offerings and deployment plans that fit government client needs * Ensure a smooth handover from contract signature into deployment, working with the PMO Lead on delivery planning * Feed market and competitive intelligence back into product and commercial strategy Reporting & Forecasting * Report pipeline, forecasts, delivery status, operational health, and market intelligence to leadership on a regular cadence * Define and track success metrics for the region spanning commercial performance, delivery quality, and customer experience, not commercial results alone What You Will Have: Essential * In depth experience in technology or telecom sales, business development, or country/general management, with substantial government or public-sector client experience * Experience operating at Sales Lead / Director level or equivalent or Country/Regional Manager with responsibility for revenue goals, for a global technology vendor or a regional telecom/cloud provider. * A track record closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals with government or large enterprise buyers, ideally around digital transformation, managed services, or connected-government solutions * Experience owning a customer relationship beyond the sale, comfortable being accountable for delivery outcomes and customer satisfaction, not just bookings * Confident working directly with technical and engineering teams to understand delivery realities and communicate them credibly to customers * Strong internal stakeholder management skills, able to drive prioritisation and trade-off decisions across teams that don't report to you * Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-moving, early-stage environment * Willingness to travel extensively across the region * Ideally willing to be based in Barbados, but for the ideal candidate we would consider other Caribbean countries, however travel to Barbados and around the Caribbean is essential, this role requires an in-region presence, not remote just regional management What You Will Have: Highly Desirable * General management experience, P&L covering both revenue and cost.An existing network within Caribbean government or public-sector circles * Experience covering multiple Caribbean markets as a single book of business (e.g., Eastern or Western Caribbean as one region), rather than a single-country remit * Experience with sovereign cloud, data residency, or digital public infrastructure (DPI) programmes * Entrepreneurial or start-up exposure, including having been part of a company through a scale-up phase or exit
