BX Civil & Construction developed the Construction Discovery Shadow Program to expose high school students to the heavy highway construction field. What is the Construction Discovery Shadow Program? * * On-site observatory experience at job sites within the area * Small, manageable sessions with plenty of time for questions * Flexible scheduling based on student availability * All personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided for the student * Shadow and talk with professionals in the industry regarding: * Project Management * Field Technology * Supervisor Roles * Mechanics * Estimating * Safety * A free program for High School Students * Limited space is available so apply early Who is this program for? * High school students who are: *  16 years or older * Thinking about starting a career in construction after high school, or just want to learn more about the field. * Interested in going to a trade school or community college to study Construction Management, Heavy Equipment Operation, or Diesel Mechanics. * Considering attending a 4-year college to major in civil engineering or construction management. * Looking for summer jobs to do between college classes. Program Requirements: * Students must to fill out the application. * Both the student and their parent must sign a program waiver before starting. * Students must arrange their own transportation to and from the BX Project Office in Dell Rapids for scheduled sessions. * This program is only for observing; students cannot join in the actual work.
