Data & AI – Manager CFGI, founded in 2000, is a dynamic and fast-growing financial consulting firm serving as a trusted partner to CFOs and their organizations. We help clients address complex challenges across accounting, financial reporting, transactions, regulatory compliance, digital transformation, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. We combine deep technical expertise with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach to help leading organizations move forward with confidence. We are expanding our Data & AI practice across Asia-Pacific and seeking a hands-on Manager to lead client engagements and support business development in either the India or Japan market. Managers oversee day-to-day engagement delivery, mentor junior professionals, collaborate with senior client stakeholders, and help identify and shape new opportunities. Candidates are not expected to support both markets. The successful candidate will be aligned to either India or Japan based on their relevant language capabilities, market experience, and client relationships. What You Might Expect * Lead Data & AI engagements involving data engineering, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, dashboards, automation, and data-governance solutions. * Manage the design, development, and implementation of data pipelines, analytics solutions, predictive models, generative-AI applications, agentic workflows, and intelligent process-automation initiatives. * Lead AI readiness assessments, use-case identification, implementation roadmaps, responsible-AI governance, and AI-enabled managed-services engagements. * Partner with CFOs, CTOs, and senior finance, technology, data, risk, and operations stakeholders to translate business challenges into scalable technical solutions. * Own day-to-day client relationships, facilitate working sessions, communicate recommendations, and present technical solutions to executive and non-technical stakeholders. * Lead engagement planning, project execution, workstream management, quality assurance, and client-ready deliverables. * Embed appropriate model validation, explainability, auditability, privacy, security, and human-oversight controls into AI solutions. * Manage and mentor junior team members by providing technical guidance, reviewing deliverables, and supporting professional development. * Identify and qualify new client opportunities in the assigned market. * Contribute to proposals, solution design, executive presentations, account expansion, and pursuit activities alongside CFGI partners. * Collaborate with CFGI’s APAC and global Data & AI, Data & Analytics, controls, and managed-services teams. * Help adapt and productize CFGI’s existing accelerators, platforms, and delivery methodologies for local-market requirements. What You Must Have * 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, advanced analytics, applied artificial intelligence, machine learning, analytics consulting, and/or technology consulting. * Strong hands-on experience delivering data or AI solutions from requirements and solution design through implementation, with demonstrated depth in at least one core discipline: AI engineering, data-platform engineering, or advanced analytics and modeling. * Experience leading client-facing workstreams, managing project deliverables, communicating with senior stakeholders, and mentoring junior professionals. * Demonstrated professional experience supporting either the India or Japan market, including professional working English and the language capability needed to deliver client work and build relationships in the assigned market: * * India: Hindi or another relevant Indian regional language, such as Kannada, Marathi, or Tamil; or * Japan: Business-level Japanese.   Candidates are not required to speak both an Indian language and Japanese. Each candidate will be assessed only against the language and market requirements of the market they are being considered to support.   What Sets You Apart * Experience designing and implementing generative-AI, predictive-AI, or agentic-AI solutions in a production or enterprise environment. * Experience developing data platforms and solutions using Python, SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, cloud data platforms, data orchestration tools, and/or modern lakehouse technologies. * Experience evaluating and selecting AI models based on capability, cost, latency, throughput, security, licensing, context-window, and data-residency requirements. * Experience developing retrieval-augmented generation, tool-enabled AI, multi-agent workflows, semantic layers, knowledge graphs, or other enterprise knowledge architectures. * Experience applying AI governance, model evaluation, observability, explainability, model-risk, data-lineage, and auditability practices. * Experience with at least one major cloud platform and its managed AI services, including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform. * Experience leading business-intelligence, workflow-automation, or analytics solutions using platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, UiPath, or Microsoft Power Platform. * Experience originating or co-originating client opportunities, shaping business cases and scopes, developing proposals, and presenting solutions to executive buyers. * Experience growing existing client accounts or converting delivery relationships into follow-on engagements. * Established relationships with senior client stakeholders, alliance partners, or technology vendors in India or Japan. * Experience delivering data or AI solutions in regulated, audit-focused, risk-sensitive, or data-residency-constrained environments.   Nice to Have * Experience with generative-AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, AutoGen, or comparable platforms. * Experience with Model Context Protocol, function calling, vector databases, embedding models, hybrid search, prompt management, or prompt-versioning practices. * Experience with AI evaluation or observability tools such as RAGAS, DeepEval, MLflow, LangSmith, Arize Phoenix, or Evidently AI. * Experience with responsible-AI tools and methodologies, including SHAP, LIME, fairness testing, model registries, data contracts, or data-lineage platforms. * Familiarity with self-hosted inference technologies such as vLLM, Ollama, SGLang, or comparable platforms. * Experience with semantic-layer technologies, ontologies, knowledge graphs, RDF, OWL, SPARQL, or graph databases such as Neo4j. * Office-of-the-CFO experience involving finance, financial close, reporting, controls, risk, tax, FP&A, or related workflows. * Experience in financial services, healthcare and life sciences, technology, manufacturing, energy, consumer products, or another relevant industry. * Experience delivering AI or analytics solutions within a governed finance, reporting, controls, or risk environment. * Familiarity with the data-privacy, AI-governance, and sector-specific regulatory requirements applicable to the candidate’s assigned market.   Who Thrives Here * Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships across client, technical, and engagement teams. * Strong analytical and structured problem-solving abilities. * Comfortable communicating technical concepts and business value to executive and non-technical stakeholders. * Proactive in identifying client needs, developing relationships, and creating new opportunities. * Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, priorities, and deadlines. * Hands-on and willing to remain close to the technical work while leading teams and client relationships. * Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, adaptable, ethical, and dependable. * Collaborative across countries, cultures, practices, and technical disciplines. * High energy with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service and developing junior team members.   Why CFGI This role offers a combination of hands-on delivery leadership and a meaningful commercial mandate within a growing Data & AI practice. You will have exposure across the full client lifecycle—from the first executive conversation and qualified opportunity through solution design, implementation, and managed operation. You will work across industries and across the AI lifecycle, supported by CFGI’s global Data & Analytics capabilities, controls expertise, and managed-services platform. CFGI’s vendor-agnostic approach allows teams to recommend solutions based on client needs rather than a single technology platform. As the APAC practice continues to grow, Managers who develop strong delivery reputations and lasting client relationships will be well positioned for future leadership opportunities. CFGI is an equal-opportunity employer. Employment decisions are based on job-related skills, experience, and demonstrated capability. CFGI does not make employment decisions based on nationality, ethnicity, national origin, race, religion, gender, age, disability, or any other legally protected characteristic.
