ABOUT THE ROLE This is an exceptional opportunity for a growth marketer who thrives at the intersection of strategy, execution, and innovation. As AI and technology continue to reshape how audiences consume content and how brands drive growth, we are looking for a Director of Growth Marketing to take full ownership of our owned and paid digital channels, including website, email marketing, CRM, SEO, paid media, and analytics. This role does not oversee social media, podcast, books, special projects, or video, which are managed by dedicated teams. Instead, it offers deep ownership of a focused set of channels with significant opportunity to drive measurable business impact. What makes this role distinctive is the combination of hands-on execution and leadership it requires. We are looking for someone who can build strategy, execute the work, analyze performance, and lead others to do the same. You will work directly within our marketing channels while also managing agency partners, helping shape priorities, improving systems, and elevating the function over time. The strongest candidates will be experienced operators who understand the work deeply enough to execute independently, direct partners effectively, and make sound, data-driven decisions. You will manage a team of marketers and work closely with the Director of Marketing Campaigns to align growth initiatives across the business. The next phase of growth depends on turning that reach into measurable results — consistent acquisition, retention, and revenue across every channel we own. This role is the engine behind that. You will be responsible for building the systems, running the channels, and generating the data that drives our marketing forward. WHAT YOU'LL OWN WEBSITE & DIGITAL EXPERIENCE * Lead the evolution of our digital ecosystem, transforming our websites into high-performing growth channels that drive audience acquisition, engagement, and revenue. * Own website performance end-to-end, combining hands-on execution with data-driven optimization to improve user experience, conversion rates, and overall business impact. * Develop and execute a comprehensive SEO and content discoverability strategy that strengthens organic growth and maximizes the value of our expanding content library. * Lead the development of new digital properties and growth initiatives, leveraging agency and vendor partners where appropriate while maintaining direct ownership of outcomes and execution. EMAIL MARKETING & CRM * Own the strategy, execution, and performance of our email marketing and CRM programs, building systems that deepen audience engagement and drive measurable business results. * Lead the ongoing evolution of HubSpot, including audience segmentation, lifecycle marketing, automation, and data quality, with direct involvement in the work rather than solely managing it. * Build and optimize subscriber growth, retention, and re-engagement strategies that improve both audience quality and long-term value. * Partner closely with internal stakeholders and external specialists to ensure every campaign is technically sound, editorially strong, and aligned with business objectives. PAID MEDIA & GOOGLE ADS * Own paid acquisition strategy and execution across key platforms, driving measurable growth in audience, subscribers, product sales, and other core business objectives. * Personally contribute to campaign development, optimization, testing, and performance analysis while effectively leveraging agency partners to extend capacity and expertise. * Manage agency relationships with clear direction, rigorous performance expectations, and accountability for results. * Continuously improve acquisition efficiency through disciplined budget management, audience development, creative testing, and landing page optimization. DATA ANALYSIS & PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZATION * Own the measurement framework for our marketing efforts, ensuring decisions are grounded in accurate data, clear attribution, and meaningful business outcomes. * Build reporting and analytics systems that provide leadership with clear visibility into performance, opportunities, and priorities across all owned channels. * Lead a culture of testing and continuous improvement, translating performance data into actionable recommendations that drive growth. DIGITAL COMPLIANCE & DATA GOVERNANCE * Ensure our marketing operations, CRM practices, and digital properties maintain high standards of compliance, data integrity, and responsible customer data management. * Establish scalable processes that keep audience data accurate, organized, and aligned with evolving privacy and platform requirements. STRATEGIC PLANNING & CHANNEL OPERATIONS * Develop and execute growth strategies across owned channels, translating company objectives into clear priorities, measurable goals, and actionable plans that drive business results. * Lead, coach, and develop a team of marketers, strengthening both executional excellence and strategic thinking while building a high-performing growth marketing function. * Balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution, leveraging agency and vendor partners where appropriate while maintaining accountability for performance, quality, and outcomes. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * 6–8+ years of hands-on experience in growth or digital marketing, with direct channel ownership across email, SEO, paid media, and website management. * Demonstrated ability to build and manage high-performing email programs. * Proven track record running paid search and paid social campaigns independently — not just overseeing them. * Experience managing agency and vendor relationships, including briefing, reviewing output, and holding partners to performance standards. * Background in media, publishing, content, or personal brand businesses is a meaningful plus. * Experience managing a small team of direct reports, including coaching and day-to-day project management. * Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent hands-on experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY Fluency in the following tools is preferred. Candidates should be prepared to speak to direct, hands-on experience with each. * HubSpot — CRM, email marketing, automation, lifecycle workflows, and reporting. * WordPress — content management, plugin management, and basic troubleshooting * Google Ads — search, display, and YouTube campaign management * Google Analytics 4 — custom reporting, funnel analysis, and attribution modeling * SEO tools and methodology — technical audits, on-page optimization, keyword research, and content strategy * Meta Ads Manager — campaign setup, audience targeting, and optimization * Monday.com — project and workflow management WHO YOU ARE * You bring a rare mix of strategic thinking and hands-on execution — equally comfortable building a channel roadmap and executing it yourself. * You use data to drive every decision and can communicate your reasoning clearly to any audience. * You take feedback effectively, incorporate it quickly and see iteration as a natural part of doing great work. * You adapt well when priorities shift and make sound decisions without needing every detail to be defined upfront. * You lead by example and bring out the best in the people around you. * You care deeply about the quality of the outcome, not just the completion of the task.
