POWERING AGENT-DATA INTERACTION FOR THE ENTERPRISE ENABLING INNOVATION WITHOUT COMPROMISING CONTROL Redpanda is seeking a Director of Legal to join as the second member of its legal team, reporting directly to the VP, General Counsel. This is a pivotal opportunity for a business-minded attorney to take ownership of Redpanda’s commercial transactions, driving deals from draft to signature and building the contracting infrastructure that will scale with the company’s rapid growth. The Director of Legal will serve as the primary point of contact for customer, partner, and vendor agreements, developing and maintaining templates, negotiation playbooks, and approval workflows. The role partners closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Security, and Finance to structure business-aligned agreements and translate complex legal concepts into actionable guidance. In addition to commercial work, the Director will advise on privacy, data protection, and the evolving AI regulatory landscape, and support the VP, General Counsel on a broad range of legal matters as the company expands. The ideal candidate brings a JD from an accredited law school, active US state bar membership, and at least 5 years of legal experience with a strong record of independently managing complex commercial negotiations for technology companies. Experience building contracting processes, working knowledge of privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), and the ability to communicate complex legal analysis to non-legal stakeholders are essential. A generalist mindset, adaptability, and comfort operating autonomously in a fast-paced environment are key.
