JOB SUMMARY: The Facility Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in residential, commercial, or industrial facilities. The technician ensures all systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.   Pay Rate: $80 - $80 hourly rate | Weekly pay   Location: Palo Alto, Ca   Shift: Day shift | Monday - Friday   The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. For information about ABM’s benefits, visit ABM  Team Member Benefits |  ABM  Employee Benefits | Front Line Team Members | (Programa de Beneficios de ABM) -Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems and equipment. -Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using testing equipment and diagnostic tools. -Perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and improve system performance. -Repair or replace defective components, including motors, compressors, thermostats, fans, and controls. -Inspect and test HVAC systems to verify proper operation and energy efficiency. -Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. -Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and maintenance logs. -Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards. -Communicate effectively with customers, facility managers, and team members regarding system issues and recommended solutions. -Respond to emergency service calls and equipment failures as needed. -Monitor inventory of tools, equipment, and replacement parts. QUALIFICATIONS * -HVAC certification, technical school training, or apprenticeship completion preferred. * -EPA Section 608 Certification (required for handling refrigerants). * -Valid driver's license and clean driving record. * -Experience servicing commercial and/or residential HVAC systems. * -Knowledge of HVAC electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems. * -Ability to use diagnostic and testing equipment safely and effectively. Preferred Skills * -Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. * -Knowledge of building automation and control systems. * -Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and technical documentation. * -Excellent customer service and communication skills. * -Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. * -Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements * -Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. * -Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and access confined spaces. * -Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and bend for extended periods. * -Must be able to work in varying weather and environmental conditions.
