Field Service Technician Location: United States (Travel Required) Full-Time About AdeptAg AdeptAg LLC is a North American leader in controlled environment agriculture, integrating innovative growing, automation, and irrigation solutions for customers both domestic and international. Our Field Service team plays a critical role in delivering technical excellence and maintaining strong customer partnerships across North America. The Role The Field Service Technician is responsible for integrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex automated systems at greenhouse and nursery sites throughout the United States and Canada. This field-based position requires strong electro-mechanical expertise, previous experience with greenhouse or agricultural equipment, and the ability to work independently at customer sites. The role involves significant travel and offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and technical development. Key Responsibilities Installation and System Integration • Install and integrate complex automated systems in greenhouses and nurseries • Work with conveyors, hoppers, potting machines, transplanters, and camera grading systems • Support commissioning and startup of new automation systems • Collaborate with engineering teams during implementation Troubleshooting and Maintenance • Diagnose hardware and programming issues • Perform repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance • Troubleshoot electrical systems including VFDs, PLCs, photo-eyes, and encoders • Service mechanical systems including pneumatic actuators, motors, gearboxes, and chain drives • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions Customer Support and Training • Provide onsite technical support to customers • Train machine operators on equipment setup and operation • Clearly explain issues and corrective actions to customers • Communicate proactively with Remote Support and home office teams Documentation and Continuous Improvement • Accurately document repairs, upgrades, and service activities • Support identification of system improvements • Assist engineering with feedback for product development • Maintain professional representation of AdeptAg at customer sites Travel Requirements • Up to 75% of travel per month, typically Monday through Friday • Travel may occur anywhere in the U.S. or Canada, particularly during the first year • Occasional weekend travel or work required based on project needs • Valid driver’s license required • Ability to obtain a passport (if not already held, within 90 days of hire)  Education and Experience • Associate’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent trade certification or experience • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems • Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated systems • Experience in large-scale commercial greenhouse or nursery environments preferred • Agricultural, Industrial, Controls and Mechanical Equipment experience a plus  Technical Skills and Competencies • Advanced understanding of electrical circuits and automation systems • Strong troubleshooting ability on electrical and mechanical equipment  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain technical drawings and schematics • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills • Strong time-management and ability to work independently • Clear and professional communication skills • Ability to remain calm under pressure in field environments • Accountability and attention to detail • Professional handling of customer interactions Why Join AdeptAg • Competitive compensation package • Generous 401(k) with company-paid contribution • Medical, dental, and vision coverage • Company-paid life insurance • Voluntary life, accident, and disability insurance options • Opportunity to work with advanced automation technology • Significant technical growth and advancement potential • Stable and growing North American organization If you are a motivated technician with strong electro-mechanical skills and a passion for hands-on problem solving, we encourage you to apply and join our growing Field Service team.
