Clara is the leading spend management platform in Latin America. More than 40,000 businesses run on our corporate cards, bill pay, financing and B2B payments, and in 2025 the Financial Times named Clara the fastest-growing company in Latin America. We're ~400 people, backed by Kaszek, monashees, Coatue, DST Global, ICONIQ, General Catalyst and Goldman Sachs, among others. WHAT YOU’LL DO We’re looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to own backend and frontend development in Clara’s Collections squad. You’ll build features end-to-end — from data models and APIs to the interfaces our customers and internal teams use. This is a high-ownership role: you won’t wait for a ticket to tell you what to do; you’ll identify gaps, propose solutions, and ship. * Design and implement backend services in Java + Spring Boot, with a focus on financial flows (payments, collections, reconciliation) * Build and maintain frontend interfaces in React + TypeScript — you’re comfortable owning a feature across both layers * Model data and manage PostgreSQL and Redis for transactional and caching needs * Work with event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar) in a distributed microservices environment * Build and secure RESTful APIs for internal and external consumption * Use AI coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) as a default part of your workflow — we expect this, not just welcome it * Collaborate with your Pod Lead and PM to translate product needs into technical decisions, and push back when something doesn’t make sense ---------------------------------------- WHO YOU ARE MUST HAVES * 3–5 years of backend development experience in Java, including Spring Boot * Hands-on experience with React and TypeScript — you’ve shipped real UI, not just tutorials * Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and distributed systems fundamentals * Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Git, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred) * AI-augmented development is how you work — you use AI tools daily to write, review, and debug code; you can speak concretely about how it’s changed your output * You identify what’s missing before someone asks — proactive, not reactive * Working proficiency in English and Spanish NICE TO HAVES * Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other message brokers * Background in financial services, payments, or fintech — domain ramp is real; prior exposure matters * Experience in Kubernetes and production observability * You’ve built something — side project, open source, internal tool — that you’re proud of and can walk us through   Clara está comprometida con el trabajo híbrido, combinando la flexibilidad del trabajo remoto con los beneficios de colaboración, conexión y desarrollo profesional que ofrece trabajar juntos en la oficina. El equipo no cuenta con días fijos de asistencia presencial, pero alentamos a nuestros claridians a asistir a la oficina según las necesidades del negocio o equipo WHY CLARA * A high talent-density team driven to make an impact in Latin America — low ego, high ownership. * Competitive salary and stock options (ESOP) from day one. * An annual learning budget and accelerated development paths. * English is our working language, with Spanish and Portuguese every day. HOW WE WORK * Clarity — Open and direct communication: we say what we mean and give context where it matters. * Simplicity — If it can be simpler, it should be. * Ownership — We own everything we do, end to end. When something needs to happen, we don't wait. * Pride — We hold ourselves to a high standard, and it shows in what we deliver. * ABC (Always Be Changing) — We adapt fast, embrace change, and keep learning. * Inclusivity — Diverse ideas, stories and perspectives build a better Clara. HYBRID AT CLARA Claridians split their time between the office, customers and home. We don't set a minimum number of office days for most roles, but we expect you to spend time there naturally, and most days during your ramp-up or when your leader asks. If you meet the must-haves, apply — the nice-to-haves are a bonus, not a requirement.
