Sales Lead II — Guest Experience & Sales Coaching 🌶️ Help lead the flavor, energy, and sales execution of our Rehoboth Beach summer season. Our Rehoboth Beach store is a high-energy, sensory retail environment filled with spices, teas, salts, sugars, blends, gifts, and tea bar beverages. Guests come in curious, browsing, vacationing, gifting, tasting, and exploring. Your job is to help turn that curiosity into a memorable experience — and help the team do the same. This summer, our Rehoboth store will use a focused sales coaching model that pairs experienced senior sales associates with structured floor leadership. You will work alongside seasoned team members who bring deep customer experience, strong product knowledge, and proven selling ability. You will help lead the daily guest experience by modeling how we greet, guide, sample, recommend, pair, and close with warmth and confidence. You will help newer associates understand not just what to do, but how to show up with guests in a way that feels natural, helpful, and sales-effective. You will work in partnership with store leadership and experienced senior sales associates to reinforce one clear selling method, one guest experience standard, and one set of expectations. To support that, this role works alongside experienced senior sales associates and store leadership in a focused summer coaching structure. Some senior team members bring exceptional live guest engagement, floor energy, and WOW customer experience. Others bring strong process discipline, product knowledge, and consistency with our selling method. The Sales Lead II helps connect those strengths into daily execution. You help make sure the team knows: · what great guest engagement looks like, · how to practice the selling method during real customer interactions, · how to use sampling and product storytelling effectively, · how to build stronger baskets through pairings and add-ons, · how to stay focused during busy shifts, · and how to turn feedback into visible improvement. Those responsibilities remain with store leadership. This role also is not simply an elevated cashier or task lead. The purpose is not just to complete shift tasks. The purpose is to strengthen guest experience, selling behavior, associate confidence, and daily sales execution. You lead through floor presence, hospitality modeling, sales coaching, communication, and follow-through. We are looking for someone who can influence others without needing to “be the boss.” ✅ Role-specific requirements · Prior experience in retail, hospitality, food/beverage, specialty retail, tourism, customer experience, sales, training, coaching, or team leadership. · Demonstrated comfort proactively engaging customers, starting conversations, asking questions, and recommending products. · Ability to model and coach a structured selling approach in a warm, natural, non-pushy way. · Ability to support newer associates through live feedback, encouragement, and example-setting. · Strong communication skills with guests, peers, senior associates, and store leadership. · Ability to stay steady, positive, and useful during high-traffic shifts. · Strong follow-through and reliability; this role requires visible consistency. · Comfort receiving coaching and adjusting quickly. · Ability to notice patterns and communicate them clearly: guest questions, missed opportunities, associate training gaps, and repeated execution issues. · Weekend, evening, holiday, and peak summer availability strongly preferred. · Prior shift lead, keyholder, trainer, peer mentor, camp counselor, team captain, hospitality lead, or supervisory experience is strongly preferred. · Interest in food, tea, cooking, gifting, wellness, flavor, hospitality, or sensory retail strongly preferred. 📈 Key performance indicators Success in this role will be evaluated through practical, floor-level outcomes, including: · Stronger guest engagement and more consistent use of discovery questions. · Improved team confidence with sampling, product storytelling, add-ons, and pairings. · Improved ADS/AVT through better basket-building and recommendation behavior. · Faster ramp-up of newer summer associates. · Better consistency with the store’s selling method during real shifts. · Clearer communication between the sales floor and store leadership. · Stronger peak-shift rhythm, energy, and follow-through. · Positive guest feedback, repeat visits, and memorable WOW moments. · Reduced need for repeated reminders on the same sales-floor behaviors. 💵 Compensation & growth Compensation varies by experience, availability, and role fit. Eligible Rehoboth summer hours may qualify for the Summer Seasonal Completion Bonus of $1.25 per eligible hour worked between Memorial Day and Labor Day, paid after Labor Day upon successful completion of the agreed summer commitment and continued good standing.
