WHAT IS ON OFFER Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for an ICP Preparation Technician to join our laboratory team in Liverpool, UK. In this role, you will support the ICP department by preparing sample solutions for analysis, ensuring all analytical preparation procedures are carried out accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Reporting to the Principal ICP Manager, ICP Operations Manager, and Department Supervisors, you will play a key role in delivering reliable analytical results across a diverse range of samples and commodities. The role also offers a clear development pathway, with the opportunity to train in the operation of ICP-OES and ICP-MS instrumentation as your competency grows. Key Responsibilities * In conjunction with the instrument operators, the organisation and processing of the daily workload to meet the agreed work schedules and targets. To ensure that all processes are performed in accordance with documented methods and procedures. * Creation of calibration & Validation solutions, Inter-Element Correction Solutions, Internal Standard Solutions and other instrumental critical solutions as required. * Stock control and organisation of the sample preparation area, ensuring the work area is kept well stocked of Concentrated Acids (including safe segregated storage), gloves, sample tubes etc so work may be carried out efficiently and effectively.    ABOUT US Alfred H Knight is a totally independent, family owned business spanning five generations. To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE  Required Competencies * Strong team player with a collaborative approach and work ethic who can demonstrate a diplomatic and measured approach through leading by example and encouraging others. * Ability to demonstrate literacy and to be numerate. * Highly motivated with the ability to work under own initiative in a dynamic work environment with changing daily priorities. * The ability to develop the skills and knowledge within the laboratory to create an environment where knowledge sharing is a priority. * Able to demonstrate a high degree of manual dexterity and can regularly carry loads of up to 15Kg without issue.  * Ability to work and organize the team in a structured way, whilst maintaining flexibility to the changing and demanding needs of the business. * High attention to detail. * Read, understand and follow work instructions and guidelines accurately * Able to focus on meeting given deadlines. * Able to communicate effectively in a range of different formats. * Proven time management skills, quality driven and proactive Work Experience * Experience in a laboratory environment. (Ideal but not essential) Required Qualifications * A minimum GCSE equivalent education in Mathematics, English Language and Science.
