The Opportunity: DS is currently seeking a Junior Environmental Specialist to join our team. Key Responsibilities: * Provide technical services in a field and office environment. * Working on all assignments on projects of low to high complexity * Writing reports, proposals and technical specifications * Completing analysis of information and report preparation Key Qualifications, Education & Skills: * Civil Engineering diploma, preferably with a focus on Environmental and/or Geotechnical Engineering * One (1) – two (2) years of related experience in environmental engineering and field investigations (preferably in a consulting environment) is an asset * Ability to complete Phase One Environmental Site Assessments, Phase Two Environmental Site Assessments, Soil and Groundwater Remediation and Records of Site Condition * Excellent computer skills, proficiency with common industry software is required * Strong workplace health and safety practices * Flexible, well organized, interested in technical and personal advancement * Ability to carry out assignments with minimal supervision * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong report-writing skills and verbal communication in English are essential * Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate effectively and to proactively respond to time-sensitive issues * Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs * Computer proficiency with common industry software is required. Experience with GIS and CAD software is an asset * Ability to follow workplace health and safety practices is essential * Must own vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage and hold a valid (G-Level) Ontario Driver's License * Must be mobile and willing to work on a combination of field and office work, as travel will be required About DS Consultants Ltd: DS Consultants Ltd.
