LVN/LPN – Licensed Vocational Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse Location: Brenham, TX Rate: $28-$31 per hr DOE Department: Healthcare Employment Type: Temporary Openings: 5 Start Date: ASAP – as early as September 22, 2026 Job Summary We are seeking compassionate and dependable LVN/LPNs to provide direct nursing care to residents at healthcare center. The LVN/LPN will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), psychiatric needs, and dual-diagnosis conditions, ensuring residents receive safe, quality, and person-centered care. Key Responsibilities * Provide direct nursing care and support to residents in accordance with established care plans and nursing standards. * Monitor residents' health conditions and report changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals. * Administer medications and treatments as ordered and according to applicable policies and procedures. * Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation and resident records. * Assist with assessing residents' health needs and responding appropriately to changes in condition. * Support individuals with IDD, psychiatric conditions, and dual-diagnosis needs in a respectful and compassionate manner. * Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare providers, and other members of the care team. * Follow facility policies, safety procedures, and applicable nursing regulations. * Work independently while also collaborating effectively with nurses, direct-care staff, and other healthcare professionals. * Adapt to changing resident needs and workplace situations. Minimum Qualifications * Current, unencumbered LVN/LPN nursing license in Texas. * Experience working with individuals with IDD, psychiatric, and/or dual-diagnosis populations. * Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Ability to adapt quickly to changes and learn new procedures and responsibilities. * Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. * Compassionate and patient-centered approach to resident care. Preferred Qualifications * Previous experience in a residential, behavioral health, developmental disability, or long-term care setting. * Experience providing nursing care to individuals with complex behavioral or developmental needs. Physical Requirements * Ability to perform the physical duties associated with direct patient/resident care. * Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and assist residents as required. * Ability to respond promptly to resident needs and emergency situations. * Additional physical requirements may apply based on facility and resident-care needs.
