The purpose of the job is to generate profitable sales growth for the selected Business Unit within South Africa by effectively implementing national sales strategies and tactics. The incumbent will have clear responsibility and accountability for day-to-day leadership of the national strategy and tactics, as well as the Sales Management Team.  This role reports to Business Unit Director: Clones, Generics & OTC. Key Responsibilities * Effectively drives performance, collaboration & compliance through the business, by partnering with the respective Sales & Marketing Managers and members of the local leadership team to enhance partnerships across the business to drive the achievement of strategic and tactical goals of the various Product Portfolios within the Business Unit; * Develops and continuously coaches to improve business capabilities and competency of the team; * Collaborates with their counterparts in other Business Units to establish the correct goals for the company, identify appropriate metrics to help achieve them as well as effective correction plans when necessary to achieve goals; * Ability to lead and influence the RSM team in a dynamic environment with multiplestakeholders in the market and internally; * Demonstrates flexibility, must be equally prepared to challenge the status quo and to respond appropriately when challenged on the key business issues; * Collaborate with the local sales & marketing leaders and functional support to prepare an annual business and sales plan based on business unit strategies containing agreed business unit goals; * Identify, evaluate and maximize new market opportunities; * Drive market expansion by recruiting new customers; * Maintain external contacts with KOLs, existing customers & hospital management; * Build and maintain a high performing Sales team by recruiting high potential employees, appraise, develop and coach staff members; * Achieve a balanced team in terms of diversity and Employment Equity goals; * Implement succession plan; * Drive performance by executing Business Unit, team and individual objectives; * Implement, monitor and oversee action plans; * Achieve National Sales targets; * Participating in customer expos and functions; * Ensure that the relevant training has been completed according to the training plan; * Forwarding of all received Product Quality Complaints, Adverse Events and Medical Enquiries to the relevant person in Quality Assurance/ Pharmacovigilance/ Medical Affairs. Key skills, qualifications and experience * Relevant tertiary education; * Minimum of 5 years Pharma industry experience, and 4 years people management experience; * Excellent, broadly based business and financial acumen with experience and understanding of the Pharmaceutical industry; * Ability to develop a vision and formulate an overall mission and strategy for the franchise and the organization. * Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills; * Ability to act consistently, with integrity in a manner that is aligned with the Arcera values to drive growth and profitability of the franchise; * Confident and credible execution of the Leadership Imperatives; * Ability to travel as needed or requested; * A track record of driving constructive change should be evident; * Excellent communication skills – must be able to work with and influence stakeholders; * Computer Literacy – MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Power BI; * Excellent Selling and Coaching Skills; * Embodies Our Arcera Values & Behaviours in all internal and external interactions.
