Headquartered in Dayton, OH, our clients nationwide are provided with services in client-focused practice areas resulting in solutions to organizational challenges.       JOB DESCRIPTION   Job Title:      Network Engineer – Level II Location:      MacDill Air Force Base – Tampa, FL (on-site) (on-site) Supporting:  The Defense Health Agency (DHA) **Secret Security Clearance**   Overview CompTech is seeking a Network Engineer – Level II to support the planning, implementation, operation, and maintenance of network services and systems. This position is responsible for helping ensure network infrastructure remains reliable, secure, and optimized to support current and future operational requirements. The Network Engineer – Level II will apply intermediate-level network engineering knowledge to support network operations, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and incorporate appropriate security measures into network designs and solutions.   Scope of Work Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Plan, implement, operate, configure, and maintain enterprise network services, systems, and infrastructure, including Cisco, Juniper, and Brocade switches and associated technologies. * Monitor network performance, availability, capacity, and reliability; identify and resolve connectivity and performance issues. * Perform Layer 2/Layer 3 troubleshooting, including switch configuration, VLANs, trunking, routing, port configuration, and connectivity across multi-vendor network environments. * Support the configuration, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of firewall and network security technologies within DHA/DoD environments, including firewall rules, access controls, and security configurations. * Troubleshoot issues across switching, routing, and firewall infrastructure, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate resolution of network and security incidents. * Incorporate appropriate cybersecurity measures into network designs and configurations to protect systems and data and identify network vulnerabilities and operational risks. * Support network upgrades, implementations, configuration changes, and planning for future capacity, performance, and operational requirements. * Maintain accurate network documentation and ensure activities comply with established technical, cybersecurity, and operational procedures. * Coordinate with technical teams and stakeholders to resolve network-related issues and maintain reliable network operations. * Perform other network engineering and operational support activities as required.   Experience, Education, and Certification Requirements: Experience: * Minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in network engineering, network administration, network operations, or a closely related discipline demonstrating the required level of proficiency. * Hands-on experience supporting the planning, implementation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network services and systems, including experience with Cisco, Juniper, and/or Brocade enterprise switches and their configuration and administration. * Experience monitoring and troubleshooting network performance, connectivity, and reliability. * Experience applying network security principles and incorporating security measures into network environments. * Experience supporting enterprise firewall technologies, preferably within a DHA, DoD, or other secured federal network environment. * Demonstrated experience troubleshooting Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, including VLANs, trunking, routing, switching, access controls, and network connectivity. * Experience working in multi-vendor network environments and diagnosing issues that span switches, routers, firewalls, and other network infrastructure. * Demonstrated understanding of current and future network infrastructure and operational requirements.   Education: Bachelor’s degree and/or applicable equivalency of four (4) years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
