Treatment and Support Center (TASC), in partnership with Ascension Recovery Services, is seeking a compassionate and experienced Outpatient Clinical Therapist to join our team in Columbus, Indiana. This position provides outpatient counseling and clinical services to adults navigating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Our therapists have the opportunity to build meaningful therapeutic relationships while helping patients strengthen recovery skills, address the underlying factors contributing to substance use, and build sustainable lives in recovery. Unlike a traditional inpatient environment, outpatient treatment allows clinicians to help patients apply what they are learning in treatment directly to the challenges they face at home, at work, and within their families and communities. Responsibilities include: * Conduct comprehensive behavioral health and substance use assessments * Provide individual counseling based on each patient’s treatment needs and recovery goals * Facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups * Develop, implement, review, and update individualized treatment plans * Help patients identify triggers, relapse risks, behavioral patterns, coping strategies, and recovery supports * Utilize evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, trauma-informed approaches, and other clinically appropriate interventions * Address co-occurring mental health concerns within the therapist’s scope of practice * Support patients transitioning from higher levels of care into outpatient treatment and long-term recovery * Provide relapse-prevention education and recovery-focused interventions * Engage families and natural supports when clinically appropriate and authorized by the patient * Coordinate care with medical providers, case managers, peer recovery professionals, probation or court partners, and community resources as appropriate * Participate in multidisciplinary treatment-team meetings and clinical case consultation * Complete clinical documentation accurately and within established timelines * Maintain treatment plans, progress notes, assessments, discharge documentation, and other required clinical records * Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and patient confidentiality * Follow HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, professional ethical standards, organizational policies, and applicable state and federal requirements * Participate in supervision, training, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development activities Who You Are You believe people are capable of meaningful and lasting change. You understand that substance use disorders are complex and that effective treatment requires compassion, accountability, strong clinical skills, and an individualized approach. You are comfortable working with patients who may be navigating substance use, trauma, mental health challenges, legal involvement, family disruption, housing instability, employment concerns, and other barriers to recovery. You also value collaboration and understand that the strongest outcomes occur when clinical, medical, peer, and community supports work together. Requirements * Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or another qualifying behavioral health discipline * Current Indiana behavioral health license or eligibility for an applicable Indiana license * LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LSW, LMHCA, LCAC or other qualifying Indiana credential * Experience providing behavioral health counseling or psychotherapy * Substance use disorder treatment experience strongly preferred * Experience facilitating therapeutic groups preferred * Knowledge of substance use disorders, relapse prevention, co-occurring mental health conditions, and recovery-oriented care * Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, documentation, and communication skills * Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team * Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality * Must successfully complete required background checks, credentialing, training, and other pre-employment requirements Work Conditions & Physical Requirements * Primarily outpatient clinical environment * Regular interaction with patients, families, clinical staff, and community partners * Ability to facilitate individual and group counseling sessions * Regular computer and electronic health record use * Prolonged sitting may be required * Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing * Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation Ready to Make a Difference?
