Pastor of Youth and Families Full-Time Position with Benefits; FLSA Exempt Reports to the Executive Director July 2026   Purpose of Role   Reporting to the Executive Director, the primary responsibilities of the Pastor of Youth and Families will be leading families of youth and children. The Pastor of Youth and Families directs all aspects of youth and family ministry, including Bible teaching, discipleship, outreach, parent partnership, and leadership development, with the goal of helping students and families grow in their relationship with Christ and become mature believers. The Pastor of Youth and Families will also serve on the pastoral team and will preach, teach, counsel, and complete various pastoral duties in the church.   Qualifications Required                         * 7+ years of pastoral ministry experience in the context of the local church * Master of Divinity from an accredited theological institution preferred; comparable theological education, training, or experience will be considered. Adheres to the qualifications of Biblical elder outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. * Exhibits a clear vision for student and family ministry and the ability to communicate that vision, set goals, and develop plans for ministry growth and effectiveness. * Strong desire to serve the Lord faithfully both publicly and privately while humbly leading others through Christ-like sacrificial leadership. * Strong interpersonal and administrative skills are necessary. * Adhere to the EPC confessional standards and theological beliefs.   Key Job Responsibilities   The Pastor of Youth and Families is responsible for, but not limited to, the following.   Leadership / Program Development * Lead the strategic planning and development of ongoing events and activities to encourage middle and high school students in a personal and growing relationship with Christ. * Identify and develop innovative programming that meets the spiritual, social, and developmental needs of students while aligning with the mission and values of Central. * Collaborate with church leadership, pastors, staff, and volunteers to ensure alignment of youth and family ministry plans with the strategic direction and mission of Central. * Build and maintain teams of adult volunteers and student leaders for youth ministry to serve in areas of teaching, mentoring, event planning, evangelism, and outreach. * Oversee the coordinators of the Children’s Ministry and Youth Ministry, providing vision alignment, collaborative leadership, and pastoral support to ensure unified ministry from birth through high school. * Develop programs to create gospel opportunities with non-believers in the community. * Recruit, train, and develop volunteers for the youth ministry.   Discipleship / Teaching * Develop and maintain authentic relationships with students and shepherd them as they have needs, concerns, and struggles. * Provide pastoral care, biblical counsel, spiritual guidance, and encouragement to students and families. * Implement discipleship opportunities for students, including small group studies, discipleship groups, and mentoring. * Equip students with a foundation in biblical truth, doctrine, and Christian living; help them understand how to apply God’s Word to their daily lives. * Teach students to relationally share Christ in their schools, social circles, and neighborhoods. * Support, encourage, and partner with parents in how to Biblically nurture and disciple their children; equip families as the primary disciples of the next generation. * Teach at weekly youth gatherings and seasonal communicants/sacraments classes.   Administration * Oversee all administrative aspects of youth and family ministry including budget management, event planning, parent and volunteer communication, record-keeping, and evaluation of ministry effectiveness. * Ensure all ministry activities and events are conducted in accordance with Central’s policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. * Collaborate with church staff and volunteers to coordinate ministry activities and programs. Central launched Resound Project in 2021 with a vision to strengthen new and existing churches in light of the changing cultural context so that the gospel of Jesus Christ might resound to the next generation. Resound Project is constituted as an initiative housed within Central Church and under the oversight of Central’s officers along with its own President and advisory board, yet it will remain deeply tied to Central through interlocking board appointments, the fact that Central’s Senior Pastor is the President of Resound Project, and Central’s role as a leading source of funding for the foreseeable future. The combined budgets of Central Church and Resound Project range between $4 and $5 Million annually, with plans to scale both entities over time.
