At Awanui, we’re proud to be a national network of 25 laboratories, 150 collection centres, and employers of over 2,200 people throughout Aotearoa. Our team of specialist pathologists, scientists, technicians, phlebotomists, couriers, and shared services personnel deliver a world-class service that together collects, analyses, and reports over 7 million patient results annually. Our Patient Services Department is responsible for the collection of blood samples and handling contained specimens, i.e., human blood, faeces, urine, tissue etc from patients within the community and the hospital. These samples are then processed and tested in our state-of-the-art medical laboratory. About the role | Mō te tūranga: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Phlebotomist to join our Patient Services Department in a permanent, full-time role of 80 hours per fortnight, based in Auckland. This position will support services across ADHB Cluster 2A: Panmure, Glen Innes, Greenlane, St Heliers, Meadowbank, Mercy Hospital, Ascot Hospital and Remuera and CMDHB Cluster 1B: Manurewa, Clendon, Manukau, Māngere and Onehunga.  This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive clinical environment where you will play a key role in delivering high-quality specimen collection services that directly contribute to patient care and diagnostic outcomes. You will work as part of a professional and collaborative team, providing a calm, caring, and efficient service to patients while ensuring the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and professionalism. Key Responsibilities: * The key tasks include blood collection, responsible for handling contained specimens, i.e., human blood, faeces, and tissue, and preparing specimens for transportation. * Provide professional customer service, and serve as a link between health professionals, their patients, and the laboratory.
