About this role As a Power Developer on Intersect's Development team, you'll support the strategy and evaluation of utility-scale clean energy and power infrastructure projects designed to meet the rapid growth of data centers and digital infrastructure across new US markets. You'll explore early-stage project identification, leveraging financial modeling, spatial GIS analysis, and AI optimization tools to evaluate site feasibility, interconnection access, and project economics.   Working closely with cross-functional partners across Engineering, Finance, and Permitting, you'll manage project budgets, schedules, and upward reporting to transform strategic opportunities into bankable, scalable assets. This role provides a unique opportunity to shape Intersect's market strategy from the ground up during a transformative boom in energy and processing demand.   Team overview This team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect's mission to accelerate the clean energy transition. The Development team sits at the core of Intersect's growth, identifying high-value regional opportunities and shaping project strategy from initial market entry to project realization. Joining this team means developing critical power infrastructure to support next-generation technology while expanding your strategic impact in an agile, collaborative environment.   What you'll do Evaluate Markets and Drive Early-Stage Strategy * Screen and analyze greenfield site opportunities across target US ISO/RTO markets using ArcGIS Online, federal/county portals, and AI optimization frameworks. * Assess regional grid capacity, transmission constraints, and market dynamics to formulate scalable market entry strategies for power and data center infrastructure. * Review federal and county-level zoning, land use, and permitting requirements to validate project feasibility and mitigate development risk.   Advance Project Development * Support the development of wind, solar, BESS, thermal and load projects from strategy through construction start. * Manage day-to-day project budgets, schedules, and development tools to keep projects on track. * Prepare clear, actionable updates and materials for senior leadership and investment committees.   Build Financial Models and Lead Reconciliation * Develop, refine, and own financial and valuation models in Excel and Google Sheets to evaluate project economics and interconnection cost profiles. * Perform accounting reconciliations across multi-departmental budgets. * Evaluate risks and opportunities across development activities, framing tradeoffs for stakeholders.   Collaborate Cross-Functionally to Shape Portfolio Growth * Partner with Engineering, Finance, and Permitting to integrate technical constraints and market signals into cohesive project strategies. * Drive projects from initial concept through construction, positioning Intersect assets for long-run value creation. * Support negotiations and relationships with utilities, land agents, and counsel.   What you'll bring * Bachelor's degree in Energy Resources, Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline. * 2+ years of experience in clean energy development, power origination, or utility-scale energy infrastructure planning. * Proven expertise building and maintaining financial or project models in Excel and Google Sheets, with an interest in applying AI optimization tools to workflow efficiency. * Hands-on experience navigating ISO/RTO interconnection processes, accounting reconciliation, and spatial tools like ArcGIS Online alongside federal/county regulatory databases. * A strategic, analytical approach to problem-solving, with high adaptability in fast-moving, emerging energy markets. * Strong alignment with Intersect's core values of Equity, Humility, Authenticity, Long-run Value, and People Come First.   Total Rewards   Total Compensation: $118,000 - $137,000 (total compensation includes base salary + bonus in USD) Equity: Beyond your salary, you’ll receive an Equity Grant, giving you a meaningful stake in our parent company.  Health & wellness: 100% premium coverage for you and your dependents on medical, dental, and vision Time to recharge: Unlimited PTO, plus two company-wide breaks (Fourth of July & end of year) Family support: Up to 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave, plus 6 additional weeks for birth parents; access to family planning and family care support through Carrot and Maven Mental health: Free access to Spring Health, including 5 free therapy and psychiatry sessions, plus a Headspace account for mindfulness and meditation through our physical health vendor, Wellhub+ Perks & extras: $150 monthly food stipend, $150 monthly reimbursement for cell phone and internet, pet insurance allowance, full home office setup, free access to UrbanSitter with $625 in quarterly company-paid credits, ActiveHero, and One Medical   Intersect maintains a work environment free from discrimination, one where all employees are treated with dignity and respect.
