We pride ourselves on promoting talent when we see it, and work with each professional to define what success means for them.”     Your role: * Collaborate with Partners and the Assurance team to assist in planning, execution, and completion of a wide range of Review, Compilation, White Paper, and Tax engagements (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5) * Support, mentor, and train a team of professionals during field assignments while actively managing the engagement progress, which includes occasional preparation of files where additional assistance is required. Proactive project management with strong communication of expectations to the team as well as and ongoing status updates with Partners and clients is important * Analyze financial information, accounting processes, and operations procedures * Review account reconciliations and adjusting entries * Review personal and corporate tax returns * Review of financial statements and related note disclosures using applicable financial reporting standards (primarily ASPE) * Consult with clients regarding various business and tax planning needs * Provide personal and attentive service to clients to encourage productive working relationships * Add value by identifying client service opportunities, including cross-team collaboration * Coach, mentor, and develop assigned coachees for high performance and professional growth * Share your technical or human skills with the broader Assurance team by developing and facilitating ongoing training opportunities * Engage with all levels of our team while working to bring our strategy to life and participate in firm wide events that foster our amazing workplace culture What you bring to the table: * Bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting or equivalent field  * CPA designation required  * Minimum of 4+ years of total experience in Assurance within a professional services firm working with private enterprises of differently complexity levels * Demonstrated success providing top notch client service * Strong technical and analytical skills matched with problem-solving skills and professional judgement to help you find optimal solutions in an efficient manner * Curiosity and an eye for detail that allows you to view challenges from multiple perspectives and enhance clients’ knowledge along the way * Strong project management and organizational skills that make your ability to multi-task and meet deadlines second to none * Self-motivation with an ability to work both independently and in a team environment * Excellent written and verbal communications skills * Experience with Caseware/Caseview, TaxPrep, Quickbooks Online, and Sage Accounting is an asset * Technological strength with MS Office 365, especially in Microsoft Excel * Knowledge of Investment Holding Companies considered an asset What’s in it for you?  * Competitive total rewards package, including salary and incentive program * Robust benefits plan (health, dental, life, dependent life, AD&D, STD, LTD, etc.) * RRSP matching * Generous paid time off package (vacation, personal, sick, firm holidays, etc.) * Health & Wellness Spending Accounts * Cell phone allowance  * Complimentary on-site gym * Free, plentiful parking * Dress for your day, including casual * Growth-focused coaching, mentoring, feedback, and growth plan reviews * Learning and professional development opportunities as well as paid professional dues * Work-life integration (professional flexibility, working remotely opportunities, compressed work weeks, EFAP, etc.) * Fun at work year-round with firm-sponsored social events, yoga, lunch and learns, registered massage therapy visits, espresso happy hours, free snacks and meals, teambuilding events, therapy dog visit, off-site Staff Day, etc.    Where you’ll work: Dartmouth, NS   Job type: Permanent, Full-time When you join Baker Tilly, you become part of something bigger—an ambitious, forward-thinking company that puts people first.
