Position Details * Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Monitor Bed Unit (MBU) * Employment Type: PRN * Shift: Night Shift (days vary) * Travel: None required * Supervisory Responsibilities: None * Compensation: Commensurate with experience Position Overview The Registered Nurse in the Monitor Bed Unit (MBU) provides direct, patient-centered care utilizing clinical expertise, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice. This role involves continuous patient monitoring, timely intervention, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities * Continuously monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to clinical changes * Perform comprehensive assessments for patients across the lifespan * Administer medications safely using electronic medical record systems * Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to abnormalities * Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and specialized treatments * Provide patient and family education, support, and advocacy * Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards * Ensure a safe, clean, and compliant patient care environment * Collaborate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members Minimum Qualifications * Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina * Certifications: * Basic Life Support (CPR) – required * Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required within 6 months of hire * Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – preferred * Experience: Recent Critical Care and/or Medical-Surgical experience required Core Competencies * Strong clinical judgment and prioritization skills * Ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure situations * Excellent communication and teamwork abilities * Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care * High level of professionalism and accountability Employment Requirements * Compliance with all health and safety policies, including vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered) * Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening (post-offer) Benefits Comprehensive benefits begin the first of the month following employment, in accordance with hospital policy.
