As a Product Manager, you'll play a vital role in our Product Management team, driving corporate strategy, product-level P&Ls, and operating rhythms. You'll oversee the product roadmap, Go-To-Market strategy, and pricing for a product or set of products. Acting as an intermediary between market/business requirements and engineering, you'll advocate for the product internally and lead the product team to make informed business decisions. Responsibilities Discovery & Product Delivery * Own the roadmap for MeridianLink Collect, our cloud-based collections and recovery platform serving credit unions and community banks. * Lead continuous discovery with collections managers, VPs of Collections, collectors, and compliance officers at financial institution partners — using interviews, usage analytics, and performance data to identify high-value problems worth solving. * Write crisp, well-reasoned PRDs and user stories covering the full delinquency lifecycle: early-stage (Day 1–30) outreach, mid-stage queue prioritization, workout and promise-to-pay arrangements, repossession, bankruptcy, charge-off, and post–charge-off recovery. * Drive agile delivery ceremonies and maintain a healthy, well-prioritized backlog aligned to team OKRs, balancing net-new capability against platform health and security work. * Define and monitor product KPIs that matter in collections — recovery rate, cost-per-recovered-dollar, roll rate and cure rate by stage, right-party contact rate, collector productivity, and charge-off avoidance — and use them to inform prioritization and demonstrate business impact. Cross-Functional Collaboration * Partner with Engineering, UX, Sales, Customer Success, Implementation, and Compliance to drive alignment and unblock delivery. * Serve as the collections domain expert — representing FI needs internally and translating collector workflow reality into clear requirements. * Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success on positioning, enablement, and proof points for the area you own. * Contribute to team-level strategy discussions, including how Collect fits alongside the other products in our consumer lending portfolio. * Partner with Compliance, Legal, and Security to translate evolving regulatory guidance into configurable platform controls that FIs can operate confidently — recognizing that our clients are examined on how they use the platform, and our job is to make the compliant path the default path. Innovation & Domain Expertise * Assess where emerging technology genuinely improves recovery outcomes and collector effectiveness versus where it adds cost, risk, or complexity — and build the case for the opportunities worth pursuing. * Own product thinking for a broad integration surface spanning core banking platforms and third-party vendors across payments, skip tracing, e-signature, repossession, credit bureaus, and print/mail. * Stay current on consumer collections trends, delinquency and charge-off dynamics for community FIs, competitive movement in the collections and recovery space, and regulatory developments materially affecting collections practice. Qualifications Required * Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant product management experience. * Proven track record of owning a product area end-to-end — discovery, definition, delivery, and iteration. * Experience managing API-integrated software products with multiple stakeholder groups. * Strong command of agile methodologies and modern product discovery practices (Jobs-to-Be-Done, continuous discovery, etc.). * Analytical mindset — comfortable using data and product analytics tools to drive decisions and measure outcomes. * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to simplify complexity and align diverse stakeholders. * Deep customer empathy — you've invested real time understanding users and translated those insights into shipped improvements. * Comfort operating in a regulated product domain where a design decision can create compliance exposure for a customer. Strongly Preferred * 0-to-1 experience — you've taken a product, module, or major capability from a blank page to a live, revenue-generating offering, and you're comfortable with the ambiguity, scrappy validation, and pilot-customer wrangling that comes with defining something before there's a playbook for it. * Direct collections, recovery, loss mitigation, or default servicing domain experience — you understand queue-driven collector workflows, delinquency stages and roll rates, promise-to-pay and workout mechanics, and what actually happens on a collections floor. * Working knowledge of the collections regulatory stack — FDCPA and Regulation F (including 7-in-7 contact limits and time-of-day restrictions), TCPA consent and revocation, SCRA/MLA servicemember protections, FCRA/Metro 2 furnishing and dispute handling, UDAAP, and CFPB supervisory expectations — with a sense for which requirements belong in configuration versus hard-coded controls. * Experience building compliance-by-design product capabilities: automated contact-limit enforcement, opt-out and preference management, consent tracking, and audit trails that hold up under examination. * Experience with bankruptcy, repossession, charge-off, or post–charge-off workflows, including third-party collection agency placement and recovery vendor management. * Familiarity with core banking integration patterns (Symitar/Episys, Fiserv DNA, Corelation/Keystone, FIS) and the batch-plus-API reality of keeping account data current. * Familiarity with payments and money-movement products — ACH and card rails, Reg E error resolution, and PCI DSS constraints on cardholder data. * Exposure to AI/ML in product contexts — you've thought carefully about where intelligent automation adds genuine value versus hype, and how to keep model-driven decisions defensible in a regulated workflow. * Experience working with or selling to banks, credit unions, or other regulated financial institutions, and comfort presenting to examiner-facing stakeholders like compliance officers and internal audit.
