Program Manager Facility: Wise Path Recovery Centers – Camp Road Location: West Virginia Employment Type: Full-Time Department: Program Operations / Recovery Support Join Our Team and Make a Difference Wise Path Recovery Centers is seeking a compassionate, organized, and hands-on Program Manager to oversee the day-to-day delivery of recovery support programming at our Camp Road facility. The Program Manager is a highly visible leadership role responsible for ensuring patients experience a safe, structured, consistent, and recovery-focused environment throughout their stay. This position leads the Behavioral Health Technician, coordinates daily programming and staffing, works closely with clinical and medical leadership, and ensures operational expectations are carried out consistently across the facility. The Program Manager is expected to lead from the front and will provide direct patient support when needed to maintain continuity of care and effective facility operations. What You’ll Do Program Operations & Oversight * Oversee the day-to-day delivery of recovery support services and patient programming. * Ensure the established clinical and program schedule is followed consistently. * Monitor patient flow, daily routines, structured activities, groups, meals, medication-line flow, recreation, and other program activities. * Ensure patients receive consistent expectations and a structured therapeutic environment across all shifts. * Identify operational barriers and work collaboratively with facility leadership to develop practical solutions. * Serve as a key point of coordination between recovery support, clinical, nursing, medical, admissions, and facility leadership. * Participate in interdisciplinary discussions regarding patient needs, behavioral concerns, safety issues, and barriers to treatment. * Escalate significant clinical, safety, staffing, or operational concerns to the appropriate leader. * Support implementation of new processes, policies, programming, and organizational initiatives. Team Leadership & Staffing * Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, coaching, and accountability for Behavioral Health Technicians and Recovery Support staff. * Maintain appropriate staffing schedules and coverage based on patient census and program needs. * Proactively address staffing gaps and work with leadership to ensure safe and effective coverage. * Complete required staff supervision and contribute to performance evaluations. * Hold team members accountable for attendance, performance, documentation, professional conduct, patient care, and program expectations. * Lead orientation and onboarding of new BHT and Recovery Support team members. * Ensure required training, competencies, and onboarding activities are completed within established timelines. * Provide ongoing coaching, education, in-service training, and skill development. * Identify performance gaps and partner with facility and HR leadership regarding coaching and corrective action when appropriate. * Promote effective communication and accountability across all shifts. * Build a strong team culture centered on patient care, teamwork, professionalism, and Wise Path values. Patient Experience & Support * Ensure patients receive compassionate, respectful, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented support. * Ensure comprehensive patient orientation is completed within established timelines following admission. * Reinforce program expectations, schedules, routines, community standards, and available support services. * Help patients navigate day-to-day concerns and appropriately coordinate needs with clinical, medical, or facility leadership. * Support psychoeducational, recovery-focused, and life-skills programming within the scope of the position. * Assist with patient intake, admissions, urine drug screening, transportation, recreation, and other program needs as appropriate. * Monitor patient behavior and support staff in responding appropriately to behavioral concerns. * Utilize trauma-informed de-escalation techniques during challenging situations. * Promote appropriate professional boundaries between staff and patients. * Step into direct BHT/Recovery Support responsibilities as necessary to support patients and facility operations. Quality, Safety & Compliance * Monitor adherence to organizational policies, safety protocols, professional boundaries, and program expectations. * Ensure incidents and significant patient concerns are appropriately documented, reported, and escalated. * Monitor the quality and timeliness of staff documentation and follow up when expectations are not met. * Support patient safety, quality improvement, performance improvement, and accreditation activities. * Participate in facility audits, readiness activities, and corrective action plans when appropriate. * Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, Wise Path policies, and applicable regulatory requirements. * Identify trends or recurring concerns related to patients, staffing, documentation, programming, or facility operations and communicate them to leadership. * Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Required * Experience working in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, residential treatment, recovery services, healthcare, human services, or a related environment. * Previous leadership experience, including supervising, training, mentoring, or onboarding team members. * Demonstrated ability to manage staffing, competing priorities, and day-to-day program operations. * Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to provide clear direction, coaching, feedback, and accountability to team members. * Ability to appropriately respond to behavioral concerns and maintain composure during challenging situations. * Ability to work effectively with clinical, medical, nursing, operational, and administrative teams. * Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with patients. * Strong documentation and follow-through skills. * Must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire. * Valid driver's license required. * Must meet applicable West Virginia and organizational requirements to transport patients. * Must maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy. Preferred * Two or more years of experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment. * Previous supervisory or program-management experience within a residential treatment environment. * Experience supervising Behavioral Health Technicians, Recovery Support Specialists, Peer Recovery staff, or similar direct-care teams. * Experience coordinating residential programming, staffing, patient schedules, or facility operations. * Experience with crisis intervention, behavioral de-escalation, motivational interviewing, or trauma-informed care. * Peer recovery or substance use disorder credentialing where applicable. Work Conditions & Physical Requirements * Work is primarily performed within a residential behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment environment. * Regular interaction with individuals experiencing substance withdrawal, behavioral health symptoms, emotional distress, or crisis situations should be expected. * Role requires frequent movement throughout the facility and active engagement with patients and team members. * Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. * Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. * Adequate vision and hearing to monitor the environment, observe patient needs, and communicate effectively. * Ability to concentrate, problem-solve, prioritize competing demands, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. * Must maintain professionalism, empathy, emotional regulation, and sound judgment during stressful or high-acuity situations. * Schedule flexibility may be required, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, or adjustments based on facility and patient-care needs.
