As a Project Accountant at DN you will manage the the day-to-day accounting of construction projects. Working collaboratively with our Operations team, you will own all accounting functions as it pertains to our construction projects. A successful individual in this role will be someone who develops strong relationships, both internally and externally, completes work thoroughly and timely, and upholds budgetary financials. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Prepare, post and track the monthly requisitions to the owner * Participate in project forecast updates – CTC/WIP – with Project Managers/Project Engineers * Monitor/track any over/under billings and work with Project Manager and/or Project Engineer * Monitor for any potential high-risk projects and work with project management for plan/resolution * Identify potential job exposures and write-offs * Procure to Pay – be responsible for processing subcontractor requisitions * Ensure the subcontractor is complying with terms and conditions of the contract (i.e. insurance, lien releases, waivers, billing procedures, CPR, etc.), * Monitor and track the cash position of the projects * Reconciliation with Project Managers/Project Engineers for project closeout * Responsible for the understanding of owner contracts and subcontracts regarding payment terms and required documents * Work closely with the Project Managers, Project Engineers and Superintendents on all facets of project accounting and administration. * Manage cash collection for the project in conjunction with the Project Manager as well as prepare Cash Forecasts. * Participate in owner, subcontractor and project meetings as required SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting * 4+ years relevant experience in Accounting or Finance related position * Relationship driven * Excellent communication skills * Detail-oriented * Experience with Microsoft Excel * Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum or Construction ERP systems TOTAL REWARDS: Our Total Rewards offerings are designed to invest in our employees and their families, including: * * Competitive base compensation plus eligibility for DN’s annual incentive bonus program * 401(k) retirement plan consisting of a 100% employer match on the first 6% of employee contributions and an additional 3% Safe Harbor company contribution * Medical coverage effective on date of hire, with DN covering 80%–85% of premiums depending on plan selection * Dental coverage effective on date of hire, with DN covering 75% of premiums * Voluntary vision coverage effective on date of hire * Flexible Spending Account options for eligible medical, dental and dependent-care expenses * Company-paid life insurance, accidental death & dismemberment coverage, and long-term disability coverage * Paid time off starting at 16 days annually, increasing with tenure, plus 9 paid holidays each year * Half-day Fridays between July 4 and Labor Day * Paid parental leave for birth mothers and spouses or committed partners * Employee Assistance Program available at no cost to employees and household members for work/life support * Tuition reimbursement * Gym reimbursement * Employee referral incentive program * Career growth, internal mobility and professional development opportunities within a stable, purpose-driven company At DN, we're building careers—not just filling positions.
