Association for New Canadians is a non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to the provision of settlement and integration services for immigrants and refugees.   Job Title:                     Project Lead – SEA for Youth Location:                     St. John’s, NL Position Type:             1 full-time position until March 31, 2027 Closing date:               Until filled   Reporting to the Associate Director of Community & School Engagement, the Project Lead – SEA for Youth will develop and deliver the Support, Empower, Access (SEA) program to newcomer youth and educators in Newfoundland and Labrador. The prevention-focused SEA for Youth project will address digital exploitation, digital safety, and human trafficking.  Using trauma-informed practices, this model will be youth-centered by engaging youth members and youth-serving organizations, along with identifying youth ambassadors who will be co-delivering educational presentations to their peers.   Roles and Responsibilities: Project Leadership: * Conduct environmental scan and literature review to inform content and materials development, along with training needs * Consult youth and youth-serving organizations * Establish and facilitate a representative project advisory committee, including newcomer youth, and ensure input is ongoing and meaningfully integrated into project activities * Supervise and mentor SEA project assistant * Recruit, train, and supervise 5 part-time SEA Youth Ambassadors from across the province * Oversee project deliverables, including setting project timelines, monitoring budgets, and accurately documenting project work * Ensure that both qualitative and quantitative outcomes are tracked including exit surveys, attendance records, etc. * Write and/or assist with writing project reports as requested * Liaise with external evaluator to support ongoing evaluation   Public Education & Awareness: * Develop youth-centred human trafficking prevention presentation and information materials * Identify partners and deliver SEA for Youth presentation and materials to newcomer youth in junior and high schools in the St. John’s CMA and in ANC’s satellite locations throughout the province * Train and support SEA Youth Ambassadors to co-facilitate presentations * Identify partners and deliver presentations and workshops to teachers and administrators in junior and high schools province-wide * Oversee the development and implementation of a social media campaign to connect youth with the project and to raise public awareness of human trafficking and exploitation * Organize and oversee the delivery of a SEA for Youth Summit to engage in dialogue and share project achievements with community stakeholders   Qualifications and Experience: * Master’s degree in Social Sciences or Education fields preferred * Demonstrated ability to manage project plans and schedules * Knowledge of trauma and resilience-informed service provision * Cultural awareness and sensitivity working with a diverse client group * Experience working with vulnerable populations * Excellent skills in navigating technology, particularly social media, messaging apps, and gaming platforms (used by traffickers to gain access to youth) * Experience with building relationships and in collaboration with community partners * Ability to develop and enthusiastically deliver engaging educational presentations to groups * Excellent English verbal and written communication skills * Ability to speak additional languages is an asset   Conditions of Employment: * Legal authorization to work in Canada * Flexible to work outside of core hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm) * Valid class 5 NL driver’s license and daily access to a personal vehicle is required * Occasional travel throughout NL is required * Position is subject to a satisfactory Criminal Record Screening and Vulnerable Sector Check from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary   How to Apply   Please upload a cover letter and resume in PDF form to https://associationfornewcanadians.bamboohr.com/careers/297   Association for New Canadians is committed to the advancement of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
