ABOUT THE ROLE: As a Propulsion Test Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working with high-performance propulsion systems, supporting engine and system-level testing. You will work closely with engineers and technicians to set up test campaigns, monitor data, and troubleshoot issues, directly contributing to Hermeus’ hypersonic development efforts. Spring: Around 16 weeks (January - April) RESPONSIBILITIES: * Work alongside experienced engineers to assist in designing, setting up, and operating test stands, learning the fundamentals of propulsion system testing. * Help instrument test setups, monitor test conditions, and analyze performance data to contribute to system improvements and troubleshooting efforts. * Partner with engineers and technicians to refine test processes, enhance safety procedures, and develop a deeper understanding of propulsion systems in a real-world testing environment. REQUIREMENTS: * Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, studies or projects. * Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (undergraduate student in your third or fourth year of study, or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program). * Strong interest in propulsion systems and testing. * Strong understanding of engineering first principles. * Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams. * Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus's mission. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * GPA of 3.0 or above. The hourly rate listed for this internship is intended as a general guideline. Final compensation will be determined based on degree level.
